Obviously this person is a noob and I don't use it in a bad way, I just mean that you were just recently introduced to the game and probably didn't want to read the book it came with (I didn't either) and you probably don't have people to show you how to. Lest I remind everyone that we were once in that situation...when we would click the toolbar instead of hitting the number on the keyboard...it happens.

So how do you make a bolt of linen?

First you need linen cloth. A bolt of linen cloth takes 2 pieces of linen cloth itself.

Secondly, you need to have the profession of tailoring. Depending on what race you are depends on where you go to acquire the profession. For instance, a gnome can get it in Kharanos (I'm pretty sure...if not, then Ironforge), a human can get it in Stormwind (if there is a place earlier, please let me know) and a Nightelf can get it in Darnassus.

Thirdly, after you go to the trainer in one of those cities (if you don't know how to get to a trainer just take you mouse and right click a guard [they will have a chat bubble if you can talk to them] and they will give you a red exclaimation point on your minimap [found in your top right corner]) you can learn those professions.

Fourthly, once you learn a profession, a quick shortcut is put into your general area (the area that you open to get to all your skills, reputation, honor and other skills). To get to this you press the 'P' button (I don't know why it's P...LOL). This will bring up your general window. There are tabs at the bottom of the window, if you click on the general one, you'll be in the right place.

Fifthly, you click on the shortcut and another window will pop up. This is your skill window...(i.e. tailoring, blacksmithing, leatherworking, enchanting, engineering, alchemy). Now you can see what items can be made under what categories and underneath that you can see what items it takes to make the desired item and what quantities of each item you need.

There is always a supplier in the same area as the trainers, so you can buy thread, salt, dye and suchforth there.

Once you create an item, you can find it in your inventory. After you make an item, you also gain a level in that profession. You can see the level of that profession by going back to the general window, (P), and clicking on the tab at the bottom that says skills. You can see your levels in all your professions, weapons, armor proficiences and secondary professions. You can also see your level go up at the bottom left corner in the chat area. This will appear blue when the item you back is completed.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Ay

*All that for a bolt of linen - LOL*

You sir/ma'am, are an asshat.

I'm pretty sure that when you were a noob, that you asked a question, that a vet would have looked at you like you had 76 eyes.

Remember, new players start the game everyday. If you don't do anything to help, at least quit showing off your stupidity in blaming someone for being new.

Here’s a link to a good tailoring FAQ that may also prove useful.
