How do I get my gnomish engineering skill above 240?
Ummmm maybe make something.

I found at 240 it gets really tough to get it higher. For some reason its a real pain in the butt. I managed to get mine to 250 but it was expensive.
All tradeskills cap at 225 until you are level 35. Assuming you are a Gnome you can get to 240 engineering once you are level 20, but getting from 240 to 315 requires level 35.
The best thing to do is mine mithril and grind mithril casing/rifles (i still have my casing) til you hit 260. Make your transporter/ripper, and then go for thorium widgets. Make them free of charge for people for the darkmoon faire, and your 300 in no time :)

I guess I should elaborate. My engineering is maxed out at 240. I can not find a trainer to increase my skill. I have been told to go to Gadgetzan, but the trainer does not give me the option to train. I was told there may be a quest but no one knows the name of this possible quest. I am stuck and frustrated with it and would appriciate some helpful advise, though the comedy is appreciated =P

If you are Alliance, you get the gnomish engineering quest from Lilliam Sparkspindle in Ironforge. If you are Horde, you get the quest from Tinkerwiz in the Barrens.
