How do you change trade skills? I am already have two jobs, but want to get rid of one for another. Thanks!
Ok..
just go to caracterinfotab and go to proff you want to discard then discard. Its as simple as that!
You could've ask ingame..

a related issue: I find this frustrating. Some items require a certain trade skill level to even use (let alone create) like engineering for explosives. If i've reached the required proficiency, and then want to try my hand at enchanting, i lose my engineering skill all together!

Yeah, remove the gathering skill you presently have. But this will make things more expensive for you since you will have to buy everything you need for the crafting skill.
You can after all have only Two Main Professions.
If you want to get 300 skill in two or more Crafting professions, make yourself more characters.
