I'm coming up to the point where i have to choose to go Dragonscale, Elemental or Tribal. So can anyone just give me some quick cons and pros for each?

It realy depends on your class. If you are a Hunter or a Shaman then Dragonscale is realy good as you can farm the scales for yourself and make the FR items you need. Pros You can make your own FR mail items. Cons there is not a whole lot of money here but it depends on your server.

Tribal is good for Rogues and Druids but I know absoulotly nothing about this branch.

Elemental... Umm yeh flatlineing here.

By way of makeing money... yeh you can do it but it will be hard. I made money for my mount and CMR by selling and tradeing scales and leather. so skinning is realy where the money is at.

I changed to engineering for my hunter after getting to 60 and the full set of black dragonscale armor.

Hello. Choosing which specific type of leatherworking a character should do is every leatherworker's most complicated problem. Here are my views to it.
Some people will go for the type that makes the armor best suited for their class. In this case, dragonscale goes for hunters and shamen. Rogues go with elemental, and druids go with tribal. However, after thinking carefully, I realized that once at level 60, people would start going for class-specific armor that can be found in raid dungeons (eg. a rogue's Bloodfang armor set). So, I would suggest you go with the type that makes the most money, seeing as you won't be using the armor for long. In this case, you should go with dragonscale, because two classes can use it, and its benefits are totally cool. Also, they look good on people.
Another thing to think about. Tribal is considered the easiest LW type to do. Elemental is medium, and dragonscale is hard. It's really up to you.
