Using fish to lvl cooking.Follow

Ok I have a lvl 29 on a server that is my main for pvp BG's. Anyway I fish all the time to make money off Stonescales and have accumulated somewhere near 1000 fish. I was thinking of spamming IF for a cooking leveling service. Maybe 10g for as many fish as it takes you to get to 300 cooking from 225. I bought up a few recipes and will sell those too. Is this a dumb idea, would you buy it if you saw it or would this be a waste of time. Opinions would be appreciated.

I usually just give yellowfin away. What makes money are those zesty clams from folks doing the artisan cooking quest (ten for a gold). No one pays anything for mightfish or summer bass.

I know that a lot of folks in my guild have asked me for fish to help them with their cooking. I'm happy to give it to them. Heck, the other day I saw an orc cooking some things in Undercity and handed him 60-70 fish that I was just going to unload for a few copper. He seemed to really appreciate it.

You could try packaging fish recipes and fish, but I don't think you'll get ten gold for that. Maybe five. Then again, different servers have different economies.

Anyway, you could try it and report back what happened. Doesn't cost you anything to try.

Well, not so much luck. I have gotten a few tells for some of the needed fish: oily's, firefin, sagefish. When I tell them they are mostly trash they don't really want any. I have had a few bites, nothing major. I'll let you know after this weekend, I usually only play really late at night because of my work schedule, so maybe I'll have luck this weekend.

If it's not a money fish, I don't even put it into my bags. I have better use for bag space than using it for fish that don't sell except to vendors. Normally, when I get a bit tired of fishing, I farm the turtles for heavy leather and turtle scales... then go back to fishing.

Cod, Trout and Yellowfin really are nice for cooking skill, though, since they use no spices.

When I was getting frustrated with fishing I might have given you that much (10) for supplying me with Nightfins from 225-300 =D.
I love eating the nightfin soup for the mana regen. Not sure if this would sell or not but that might be one way to make money cooking/fishing.

There's always winter squid. Grilled squid can sell for as much as a gold piece per.

I use 'em to open locks.

They sell for that much because you can only fish them in the winter months. Just like now you can get Summer Bass. Just for reference this wasn't meant to be a thread on how to make money fishing, I already do that fishing Stonescales. I was just trying to squeeze every dime possible out of my trash fish that I get.

Also I have sold a bunch of Yellowtail to Hunters for thier pets as well, the whole cooking leveling service doesn't seem to work. Thank you for all your comments though.

Is there anything else besides Deviate, Stonescale, and Squid that sells for anything? Firefin, Oliy, and Sage are so low it's not even worth it on Shadow Coucil.

Blizzard needs to get on the fish thing, there is nothing to keep anyone going with that skill besides that stupid dock in Tanaris.

And floating wreckage, which are way too far and few between.

Well I fish for Greater Sagefish Schools in Lake T.jk3423, above Hillsbrad. I end up getting a lot of trunks with greens sometimes, but I'm a caster and use the fish anyway. The only real money fish that I see are the Stonescales. Also fishing the elemental pools in Azshara seems like a good idea.

The amount of valuable items that you fish up is just not worth the time you put into it. Plus the sheer boredom...

BTW Fishing 300+30 right now, haven't played the BB contests yet.

I dunno. I sell five fire oils for a gold on my server. And the blackmouth oil I just turn into free action potions and sell for a gold apiece.

I was getting one gold for five sagefish delight when they first came out.
