There's Gatherer, but it only displays nodes that you have already found and marked. If you want to look at maps of where other people have found nodes, you can use the search feature here at Alla.

That depends on your faction, and whether your server is PvP. Do a search and take your best shot at it.

well... at level 60 i dropped 300 skinning for mining. i made a ton of gold doing laps around alterac, hitting all the ogre and yeti caves. lots of iron, with a bit of mithril and truesilver taboot taboot. i'd say about 75% of the time i could go through the whole ogre cave and get three nodes without aggroing anything.

I used to go there to grind and it was a decent spot, why didnt I stick with it! Thanks all!
