Your only level 10 and your a paladin. It doesnt really matter at your level but you'll do your self a big favor if you go drop eng and take up skinning. By doing those two you can either do one of two things. Store ore and leather which is needed in both profs to make items or sell both ore and leather and make money. Ive played a pally up to level 25 and it is slow leveling. That overall means it takes you longer to kill stuff thus slower money.

If you go skinning and mining and sell the items you gather you tend to rake in lots of money. Yes you cant craft armor or weapons but then again armor and weapons on the AH is sometimes if always better and easier to get. You receive your mount at level 40 which is free. But you dont make anything good in Smithing or Engineering until the high levels such as 250+ which also requires you to be at a proportional high level your self such as the 50's to 60's.

On account of not making any usefull equipment till higher levels and since you seem new I would just go double gathering for money which it lets you buy armor which lets you level faster so you can get to 60. At 60 you will have gained a wealth of knowledge about the game. At this point after making money from skinning and mining you can take up blacksmithing .You will probly be in a MC raid guild which means you can possibly get rare recipes for smithing which makes money and can make stuff that can be used by you.

Engineering is the same as blacksmithing in the respects you dont make anything good until higher levels. Paladins dont have any way of pulling stuff and engineering makes stuff that lets you pull the mbos. Engineering is a money sink though it makes items that can be used by you but that dont sell at all on the AH. Its a fun proffesion to have with such tinkets as the death ray and net o matic it may be worth taking. But again I would wait to the later levels to pick either because they both dont turn out anything while your leveling to make money which you need to buy stuff on the AH.

I agree about getting a second gathering skill for making money. Later on you should get engineering if you do PvP. I can't recommend blacksmithing unless you enjoy making stuff. If you want money, it doesn't pay. If you want good equipment, raiding instances will get better stuff than you can make. Other people will tell you differently, but after you do it, you will know the truth.
