Guide for power-leveling Blacksmithing?Follow

#1 May 15 2006 at 3:57 AM Rating: Decent
I am a blacksmith with 270 skill and I am now finding it incredibly difficult to level up my skills at all without using weaponsmithing to create some incredibly expensive weapons. To level up from 215 to 260 I used Mithril Spurs, which are cost effective. Basically I was wondering if anyone is aware of the best recipe to use, where I could find it, etc. How do I get my blacksmithing up to 300 short of blowing 300g on mats?

Thanks.

Buy the Thorium armor recipes from the AH - usually sold pretty cheap. The armor only requires power crystals and thorium, both requiring only time, not money to accumulate. A couple pieces requiring some additional components (leather for the boots, I think a gemstone for the helm) but with all six recipes you should be able to level clear to 300. Of course, none of it sells on the AH for the cost of materials.

I also seem to remember making a ton of Imperial Plate bracers since I was doing so much thorium mining that I got quite a few rubies along the way.

Lots and lots and lots and lots of thorium :( . Fortunately, thorium on my server is actually slightly cheaper than mithril due to all the people farming for arcane crystals.

Okay, thanks. Yeah I'm not quite at the point where I see a lot of thorium veins around (only level 47), but this does seem like the best strategy. Are all those crystals in the thorium veins? Also, what are the best regions to look for thorium level-wise?

Thanks.

I agree, Thorium all the way. The mats tend to be cheap enough to buy, and the pieces require almost nothing else. I spammed Thorium Gear all the way to 300.
