I am a Level 29 Night Elf Rogue in Medvih named Daggertail. My first profession was Skinning and Leatherworking. Then it was Enchanting and i think Mining(idk...) After that it was Mining and Eningeering. Now it is Herbalism and Alchemism.

Can someone tell me what an ideal profession would be for me????

Thanks

It depends on what you would like to accomplish. Do you want to make money, or do something useful? I started out with skinning and leatherworking for my rogue, but recently switched to skinning and herbalism to make money. I'm non-twink and I was getting frutrated not having enough skins to up my skills. I really enjoyed making my own armor though, and will probably switch back later in the game.

Gathering professions are supposed to be the best money, I would do that or just pick what you enjoy doing the most.

The lost art of fishing, there is plenty of money to be made in fishing and almost no one does it. Another money maker is mining/skinning, but like the post said above what are you trying to accomplish.

Herbalism is made for rogues - you can gather swiftthistle for thistle tea and fadeleaf for blinding powder. Or you can pay a fortune and buy them off AH.

I took alchemy on my rogue and once I was able to sell arc transmutes for 6g, I started to make a bit of cash. 6g every couple of days isn't that great, but it's a steady income on top of griding, quests and instance loot.

If you play PvP, then the two professions you need are Engineering and Mining. Engineers can make stuff to get an edge in PvP fights, and mining supplies the main materials as well as plenty of money selling ore and stone.

If you play PvE, then go with skinning and mining and just sell the materials and buy what you need. Since you don't do PvP, all you really need is to gather resources to sell. You can buy any crafted item you need, but you will find that almost all crafted items aren't worth making once the server matures and the market saturates.

Some people will say "I make a ton of money selling X!" Maybe they do for a while, but other people will jump in and start making X too if there is money in it. Then the profits go down the toilet. You will make more money supplying resources to those who are crafting low-margin items.
