Master ArmorsmithFollow

Is there anyone out there who is alliance master armorsmith?

Have been searching post on several sites for the quest info and have had no luck. I'm lvl 60 w/300 in smithing. Tons of info out there for master weaponsmith but oddly enuf none for armorsmith.

Had petitioned GM about the matter and s/he gave cryptic response about a quest. I noticed that Trenton in Gadget talks about 2 halves to a sword in ZF and he is the only one in the smithing line of quests that will speak to me again.

Please, I've had smithing since lvl 5 and its been most fun and profitable for me. Not to mention the fact that I love doing it. Plus I am the only 300 smith in my guild and would be great honor for me to be the first master armorsmith.

Any steer in the right direction would be most humbley appreciated!

Not sure I follow, you mean just the basic specialisation quests? starts at the Great Forge in IF, not sure where for Horde.

Alliance chain leads you to Stormwind and STV and eventually Gadgetzan. You'll need a crapload of mithrill (like 270 bars) but in doing the chain you can get Glimmering Mithril Insignia and Hammer of Expertise(summoned via another trinket).

It's a long chain but youll learn all the Ornate mithril recipes along the way and then can go back to IF or whatnot for your Master Armorsmith level.

There's also a chain in Gadgetzan to learn all the Imperial Plate gear. need like 250 thorium for that though.

And the sword the smith mentions is the 2 halves of Sul'Thraze the Lasher which drop from bosses in ZF.

I hear you. I have similar problem. I am 291 armorsmith, and should reach 300 in the next few days, however I tried to open plans for "corruption" and couldn't do it.

I petitioned the GM and he mentioned there is a quest to obtain the title "Master Weaponsmith/Swords." He would not give me the name of the quest, but did say "it is in a very cold place."

I am sure there is a quest for "Master Armorsmith" too.

I can't find my quest on Allakhazam. If you come up with any information about it, please let me know. Visa versa, as I do research into my problem if I come up with anything to help you I will share it.

I just completed buying the plans in Gadgetstan. It is a "set," but the cost of like 300 bars of thorium to obtain "green" plans is a big let down. Went into the poor house to buy the plans.

I'm sorry I don't have the answer for you, but you can be sure you have a quest to do to earn the title "Master Armorsmith."

I'm working on my Armorsmith quests right now, so let's see if I can be of help.

* The Armorsmith quest starts at the Great Forge - Grumnus Steelshaper, the dwarf standing to the right of the gravy boat in the middle. You should be able to talk to him and get the quest "The Art of the Armorsmith". This quest requires you to make some items that you don't have the recipes for. You get these recipes from Trenton in Gadgetzan, but he trades you the recipes in exchange for other items, which you first have to learn from a master in Stranglethorn Vale, whom you get directed to by someone else in IF. Confusing? Yeah. It's better to work backwards:

1. Talk to the Mithril Order guy in IF, Hank the Hammer. He will give you the quest The Origins of Smithing. When you're done this, he'll send you to BB on the quest In Search of Galvan.

2. Go to BB - talk to McGavan, the human standing outside the Blacksmith shop there. You should get a quest to find Galvan the Ancient in STV somewhere, The Mithril Order.

3. Find Galvan the Ancient - he has a little camp between ZG and MoshOgg IIRC. He'll give you some gathering quests.

4. Gather all the items (Truesilver, Citrine, Iron, and lots of Mithril) and he'll give you recipes.

5. Learn the recipes and go to Gadgetzan. Talk to Trenton and you should get some quests to make items from the recipes you just learned.

6. Hand the required items in to Trenton and he'll give you more recipes. These recipes will allow you to make the required items for 'The Art of the Armorsmith'.

7. Get Art of Armorsmith quest in IF from Grumnus Steelshaper. Make the required items and hand them in, and *poof* you are now a certified armorsmith - should be anyways, I haven't finished mine yet :]

The quests needed to become armorsmith or weaponsmith are:

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?wquest=5283

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?wquest=5284

Each of those threads has some further information on the background to getting the quests. I hope this is useful.

If this still doesn't work, it is possible you missed one of the very early quests, turning in copper items to help with various war efforts. Talk to all the dwarves on the bridge in IF - maybe you've missed one of the early quests.

You know, I was just in Everlook, Winterspring, and I could swear I remember a master swordsmith and some other master smiths with him. That would fit the GM description of

Quote:
"it is in a very cold place."

Check it out. That may be who you're looking for. Hope you've reached unfriendly with the Timbermaw, or you better be prepared to corpse run it.

Edit: I may have been unclear as to my thoughts that there may be a master armorsmith quest there too.

After some investigation, it appears the quest that will earn you the title of Master Weaponsmith/Swords is "Corruption."

It can be found in the AH at Everlook.

It appears the mace and axe specialists are there as well.

Going to be a big quest, and might need 10 guys, minimum 5, and all big guns.

Only Armorsmith quest I recall finding in Winterspring is The Demon Forge.

I've not heard of any extra specialisation past Armorsmith tbh. The Weaponsmith's are just to go deeper into one particular class.

Seril Scourgebone in Winterspring gives the 3 quest, choose the one for Corruption when you have level 300 blacksmithing and attain weaponsmith status.

The quest is to go to Strat and find the Black Guard Swordsmith and kill. Loot the Insignia of the Blackguard off him and return to Seril.

This should get you the swordsmith specialization. Hope this helps.
