I have been searching, but can't find previous posts for this. How do you get your skill past 225? I was told Gadget, but can't find anyone or anything there. What is next?

Gadgetzan, the guy standing at the back right in the inn. He'll set you straight.

You need to have 225 cooking and Level 40.

Then talk to the butcher in the INN.

There's a goblin in the inn at Gadgetzan. He'll send you on a quest to collect some cooking goods. Yeah... I think you need to collect some clam meat, eggs, and something else. Anyway, once you get all the items, talk to him, and he'll give you some nice food and the artisan cooking skill.

Yes at skill of 225 (level does not matter), you get this quest:

Clamlette Surprise

Required components:
12 x Giant Egg
10 x Zesty Clam Meat
20 x Alterac Swiss

Correction: Your character level DOES mater. The quest used to require your character to be level 40, but recently Blizzard changed this level requirement, along with fishing and first aid, to be level 35.

So, if you have 225 cooking and your character is level 35 or higher you should be able to pick up this quest from the goblin in Gadgetzan.

Just a small suggestion:

While the rocs in that zone drop the giant eggs you need for that quest, I always find it easier and faster to get the eggs from owlbeasts in the Hinterlands. There tend to be less adds there and the owlbeasts seem to drop the eggs more frequently.
