Re-speccing Engineering: Is is worth it?Follow

My character has level 225 Goblin Engineering, and i've been sorta happy with it. But then I saw this guy who had a Gnomish Battle Chicken, and frankly, it kicked butt. Now i'm thinking about unlearning Gob engineering and relearning it as Gnomish engineering from the beginning.

Is it really worth it? I love that little chicken, but is there any other good schemes that the gnomish engineers get? I like my explosives, but i go through those way to fast, and they're often expensive to replace.

Any advice is greatly appriciated :D.

I think you can't change from Goblin to Gnomish after you have made that choice. Kinda like Blacksmithing and Leatherworking.

Like said above, don't respec for the chicken, and do get the dragon gun and rocket helm before doing anything. And, yes, you can respec as someone said since version 1.10. The way to have done it would be to go Gnomish first, build all the trinkets, then convert to Goblin for the consumable bombs. But you might still want to go Gnomish because there are some awesome trinkets that are reusable, whereas the Goblin explosives cost tons of money (as you already mentioned). The only real explosive you are giving up is the Big One, which costs an arm and a leg. Thorium grenades and dense dynamite are just about as effective in a PvP fight. I have dropped more than a hundred of them on people and won most of the time. I have two characters with both kinds of engineering, and I would say Gnomish is the cost-effective way to go for bang! for the buck. But get the dragon gun and rocket helm first!
