ok i heard rogues wernt gear dependent cuz i was gonna do leatherworking and skinning so im just wonderin whats the best professions for a rogue
did you read the sticky?
why is it that idiots are attracted to skinning, leatherworking and either hunters or rogues?
i say idiots because no one asks a question about any other tradeskill barely.
and yes i realize that i either am now or used to be an idiot, as a hunter skinner/leatherworker.

On my rogue i did Skinning/Herbalism until level 35 then i Switched to Herbalism / Alchemy, and now i can get blindweed, and other things that i may need so i can Support my Rogue, and my Wallet, and my Guild all at once on my mount. You can put on Track herbs while running, and you can make blinding powders, and potions.
