Does anyone know what racks in the cash as a leatherworker? I mean, at like 215 leatherworking, anything good?

I would suggest using your skinning over leatherworking for making money in the AH. At least that’s what works for me. The only thing I can suggest for leatherworking, beyond leather patches, is to figure out what leather items are used for popular quests and try selling some of those. Most leather wearers can either make their own armor or have friends or guild mates who can do it for them for free.

NO WAY. SKINNING AND MINING FOR THE BIG, CONSTANT GOLD. I HAD MY MOUNT BEFORE I WAS 27 USING MINING AND SKINNING AND SELLING IN AH. SOMETIMES 1G 20S FOR STACK OF COPPER.. INSANE.

I agree that two gathering skills is the easiest way to make money. But this game is about having fun, and some people are not consumed by the need to make money. Some people find crafting to be fun in and of itself. I have a lot of fun making my own leather armor as I level as a hunter or a rogue. For a hunter that kind of falls apart at level 40, but there’s always dragonscale if you really enjoy leatherworking.

So my advice is always to have fun. If that means crafting then craft. If that means focusing on making money then by all means go for it.

let me rephrase my question. if you were a lv. 35-45, what leather or mail armor would you want from leatherworkers?
this is the pool:

Don't forget that you might find a nice enchanter to make a deal with to buy some of your cheaper made stuff at a nice profit to you. That leatherworking stuff d/e's nice. You wouldn't want to miss out on a good section of the market.

even after the nerf, i still sell about one green whelp armor a week. red whelp gloves are tons of fun too. the big bad voodoo robes will sell a couple a week, while giving you a skillup at that range, but i'd wait till you start running zf to get the mojo flasks rather than buying them. lots of times people won't bother taking them off the bodies, and if you mention you need them for lw they'll usually just give them to you.

i think the key to making money in mid-level LW is to put just one or two of a bunch of items up, rather than flooding one item.

I agree. Green whelp armor seems to sell decently. Ppl love the sleep effect. Also, you may be able to get a few "regular" customers. These will be the gatherers or leather-wearers who took up alchemy. Selling scales(scorpid and turtle and dragon) seems to do well, as raw mats usually do(these usually aren't in abundance on my server). Any leather items that add to damage tend to do well. Also I think Dark Leather Gloves do (somewhat) well (I think i got that name right). Excuse me if I've stated the obvious...got 2 hours sleep last nite...too busy playing WoW lol.

just spec in high lvl lw that u like the best and u will start seeing lots of money especially with rare patterns that few others have...at 215 u shouldnt be making much profit just craft things with the easiest mats that get u skill ups as quick as possible, the faster u get to 300 the more money u get tho there are a few good sellers at that skill

If you're on a server with lots of PvP in BGs Swift Boots might sell as well. Run speed FTW.

I would suggest heading to Southern Duskwood. This is an awesome place for farming medium and heavy leather. All of the Nightbane creatures are skinnable. The worgen don't normally drop anything but copper/silver so people are looting the corpses completely. There are always skinnable corpses lying around and if you go with another person, it makes it that much easier to keep the cycle going. I was there for about 30 minutes and left with about 6 stacks of medium leather and 3-4 stacks of heavy leather along with the occasional medium/heavy hide. Awesome place whether you are trying to make money from LW or skinning.
