Good zone for Gold?Follow

Can anyone suggest a good zone to mine Gold in? It seems pretty damn rare...

Gold is a rare spawn of iron and occasionally mithril. Consequently, if you are really trying to find gold, you need to plug away at all the iron and mithril nodes you can find. Every once in a while you'll get gold instead.

I've found the Badlands to be most productive for both iron and mithril, and consequently for silver, gold, and truesilver as well, which are all rare spawns of other veins. One loop around the zone will fill a 16 slot bag with ores and stone, a quick stop at the forge in the center to compress the load, another loop, and then a trip to the AH to auction off any of the stones, gems, and metals you don't intend to use for crafting. On my server, the rough and solid stones, the iron, and the mithril all sell very quickly. If you happen to pick up some flame sacs or (wonder of wonders) a dark whelpling in Lethlor Ravine, that's just gravy.

For horde, I understand Thousand Needles is the place to be, but being alliance, I just leave my bones laying around all over when I go there.
