I just have some questions on how disenchanting works.

1. Is it just green and above items that you can disenchant?

2. Is it only weapons and armor or can it be items like ingredents?

Thanks

I'm new to enchanting as well, but I think you can disenchant things like malachite and tigerseye. If you mouse over an item and the name is in green, you should be able to disenchant it.

No, you can't disenchant malachite or tigerseye.

You can disenchant any weapon or armor that is above common quality (i.e. green, blue, purple, or orange). You cannot disenchant containers, trade goods, reagents, recipes, or any other items of the like, even if they are green, blue, or otherwise.

edit: An exception to this rule is anything you make using the Enchanting skill itself, i.e. wands. You can't make a wand and then disenchant it for components again.
