I have read on the forums here that Tailoring is useless. Right now I am a 22 Undead Mage with Tailoring at 100 and Enchanting at 60. Enchanting is a good source of cash cause I sell the strang dust and Greater Essesce.

So what do you think I should start doing? I am not looking for a money maker. I just want something that will be usefull to me.

and I have read on froums on how somebody took down majordomo solo, sure it was a hacked private server, but not everything you read is golden.

When folks post "Tailoring is useless" they are idoits, they are disenchanted with their choice, and see someting else as better, and since something else is better, than this must be junk. This is a very imuture view and terribly short sighted too. Firstly lets look at just Tailoring, form 1-late 50's, a tailor makes bags, some decent armor for casters(sure their is better, but tailoring armor has the advantage that it is virtualy free(if you farm the mats), and it raises your skill. Now only a few pices of the armor stand out as good, and even less as Great, but the profession has some great stuff in their. Making Bags is terribly important, expecialy when it is your first toon on a server, I would ventrue to say bags are the single most important aspect to making money. Even if you never sell a bag, you are able to hold more loot, and sell more greys to make money. Next is that their are items that make money, it is important to see what is sold by others, and jump in on the market of your server. Even if you decide all of the armor in the profession is crap, and you want nothing to do with it at all, selling mooncloth is a huge money maker, i have a tailoring alt at level 35(minum level to unlock 225) who i login to onec every time my cooldown for mooncloth is up, I make the cloth mail it, and go back to the inn and logout, This is aproxomatly 13 gold each time, and all i need to do is farm a lil felcloth(or buy it) and I still make cash(even though that is not your goal, a lil extra money never hurt)

My tailor dose the same as you, I send stuff form my main(greens/cloth) to be melted in to Enchanting mats, I dotn worry about rasing the skill, it is jsut money for me at that ponit. When folks slamm any profession(except enchanting, i have my reasons on that one) it is usualy that they didnt get what they "Expected" out of it, and theese folks view an other porfession to have what they thought was missing from the other. Usualy the poster who makes comments like this waned epic gear, or itmes that are only avaialbe to them(meaning they want to be the only guy that can make said item so they can charge though the teeth), eventaly we(WoW players) learn that no profession is a I win button, some are more usefull(engineering/alchemy)and some make more cash (dule gathering), you can be successfull in the game with no profession, they are just a lil extra somihing for us. Sure profesisons can make epic gear(smithing/LW/tailoring) but are outshined by gear in MC/BWL, and when a tailor sees that his robe of the void can be bested by a drop at the end of a 40 man raid, they go insane and post how useless the craft is.

I stay stick with what you are doing,if it works for you, and you enjoy it, That is afterall whey we play.

If you stick with it Tailoring becomes more useful to a mage later as you can use the gear and bags you can make. It's only marginally useful in early levels because you will find things that are better than what you can make, but if you spend time focusing on gathering cloth and advancing your skill you will find you can use more of what you make. Enchanting is good for keeping your wands up to date if you don't happen to find one or can't afford to buy a new one.

For usefulness, if you don't like tailoring/enchanting, you could drop them both and take up herbalism and alchemy, though i don't recommend taking one without the other.

All good advice thanks.

One last question. Do you think Tailoring/Skinning would be a better combo then Tailoring/Enchanting?
