Don't do tailoring and enchanting. Take up two gathering professions like mining/skinning it's more profitable.

you were better off to keep mining.

i would suggest you not work on tradeskills yet, you dont have the bank account ready to support it and you'll just feel frustrated at being poor most/all of the time.

for a while, do as munter said and you'll be fine.

drop tailoring and get mining, as it allows you to grind humanoid mobs ( don't ever grind something that doesn't drop cloth is the rule I live by) and pick up deposits along the way, and don't use your enchanting much until you get to a higher level, and pick up as many blues as possible while instancing, though never roll need if someone else actually needs it, lik don't roll on anything lower tahn mail if your a warrior, or with stats you can't use on weapons

Keep in mind enchanting won't get you much money til you are level 250 or so and can afford those big enchants everyone wants.

enchanting isnt really hard. Jus do a couple of VC (deadmines) runs for sum loot and disenchant it for mats. ull end up getting basic nooby things for enchanting which will help u get started and follow up to the other loot from higher level instences to get bettter stuff.

I make about 5-6g per day with tailoring on my lvl 14 priest.

It takes me about 10-15 minutes.

I could probably make more, but im lazy and have been playing my paladin almost exclusively.

Heres how you make a bit of money with tailoring:

1. Buy the mats cheap on AH.

You should be able to get linen for around 20-25s per stack of 20.

Wool for 30-40s.

If you get mats while doing your quests... Great, more profit for you :)

2. Mark it up a huge amount.

Green(uncommon) items should sell for a minimum of 15-20s. Anything with +int will sell for more.

Anything that requires a pattern will also sell for more.

Prices will ultimately depend on your server.

3. Only make 1-2 of each item you are going to sell at a time, but make a ton of different items.

This is the most important step, and the part where most of the non gathering professions get themselves in trouble.

You cant ever have too many copper bars or herbs on AH since they dont cost you anything other than time to get, but if you flood the market with 20 brown linen robes you wont make any money.

If you instead put up 2 each of every green(uncommon) robe you can make, odds are you will sell them.

If they dont sell, then your only out the cost for 1 or 2 items, instead of 20 ;)

4. Repeat. Over and over again.

Consistancy is key.

BTW, I have over 30g on my priest(tailoring/enchanting), which is way more than I need at lvl 14.

Hope that helps...

On my lvl 51 mage i have tailoring(280)/enchanting(276). From lvl 5 i have used my tailoring to level my enchanting up, making green items and disenchanting them. This works great on my lvl now, i check thottbot for the disenchanting %chance and i make the stuff that is cheapest and best.

Recently I have started buying runecloth for about 1,4/1,5 making them to greenies, and disenchanting them into mats... In AH value i make 1g50s into 1-7g this way. In other words, i get very cheap mats and I can compete on the price marked in enchanting:)

So the myth about tail/ench being a trap, is imo wrong:P

Just farm lower level instances, i farmed the hell out of RFC when i started enchanting, then move onto other things like WC and so on. Im also doing skinning, which i make a nice profit from.
