I trained in fishing, then I bought a fishing pole with a bauble, but when I equip the pole nothing happens. How do I start fishing? Please help

Do you have both the fishing pole and the fishing icon in your action bar? Equip your char with the pole and then click on the fishing icon and it will cast into the water

And when the bobber splashes, right-click it to "loot" your catch, if you have one :).
