LW- Which way to go?Follow

#1 Mar 14 2006 at 9:07 AM Rating: Decent
Currently im 131ish in LW at 23 hunter.

I've read some posts on the diferent LW spec. I've looke at some of the armor each spec can make and i've read that elemental is best Hunters.

But when I look at the Elemental gear i donty see any AGI on them.

If there's no AGI on them then why is it best for hunters?

What's the best way to go for a hunter?

Hunters should go Dragonscale, but as you noticed, the gear isn't all that awesome.

So if you plan to NOT wear the gear so much, just pick one you think will make the most money for you if you craft the items to sell. Watch the Auction House for a while, see if people post a lot of the Elemental or Tribal items for sale.

In the end, you don't even have to choose a specialization. You can go all the way to 300 skill without it, then decide later.

There are some nice hunter patterns that require Cenarion Circle rep, so if you have the determination to grind & quest in Silithus, then I'd go for those.

There's a series of pieces called Spitfire, which is agi/int gear, and another series called Sandfury, which is stam/nature resist gear, so neither is perfect for us except for the one piece at Exalted which is Bind on pickup when made: Dreamscale Breastplate! Will let you look that one up & drool ;)

Dreamscale Breastplate is also the only piece that requires a Leatherworking specialisation (Dragonscale).

Most Hunters go for the Dragonscale specialisation because of the Black dragonscale set which has nice +attack power on it which works for range, good +fire resist for those trips to the Molten Core, and a lovely pair of Boots (epic). None of these are bind on pickup though, so you can use your Skinning skills to gather the ingredients needed & get someone else to make.

I personally chose Tribal for my hunter because he makes gear for my alts, and tribal items are very cheap to make compared with Dragonscale & Elemental (shh, don't tell your buyers). Tribal also seems to have the most patterns.

You dont see agility on them because their buffs are things that agility adds. +crit and +dodge

for hunters dragonscale could be best for armor since its mail unless u want the elemental patterns which may provide better stats than the dragonscale and stats>armor for hunters.

For rogues 1% crit=29 agility and in that case the 1% crit along with the dodge are great stats although the stormshroud set doesnt add stam. So pick wats more important to u stats or armor

1 crit isnt as good as 29 agility.

to be fair, the only non elemental pattern that has agility is corehound boots, made by tribal leatherworkers.

i'd recommend the tribal leatherworking, you can make the most cash from it to the point that you can just buy whatever else you need.

1 crit =29 agility for rogues... its different for hunters and warrios

29 agility is much better to have than 1 crit.

yes it is...but the stormshroud add dodge and crit and on one piece its +chance to hit. These are things all effected by agility so ss stats are basically just as good....besides the minimal attack power change resulting from no ag+

29 attack power isnt exactly minimal. :/

mmmmk, now only 29 hunter, lol been over a month and i've only gotten 6 lvls =p, been playin lock to raise eng and chant.

ANYWAYS, i know a lot of the path LW stuff sells for a lot, BUT, i can also make non-path items that sell for less the will sell faster.

What i want to know is which PATH has the best stats for hunters?

which path has the best stats and stats alone? tribal probably. but if you want to really make stuff for yourself, go with dragonscale.

if you pick tribal you will be able to make enough money to buy everything you need and then some though.

+hit is not affected by agility, but it is very important for melee in the end-game raids. Against a level 62-63 elite, you'll have a much higher miss-rate; probably around 10% or higher. Therefore, +hit gear is very good to have.

Think of plus hit like +defense. It has stuff in common with agility, but agility does not affect them. Agility is great for a tank, but it is not a substitute for +defense. In the same way, agility is great for a rogue and a hunter, but it is not a substitute for +hit. Miss a tranq shot in MC, and some boss fights can get much harder.
