Ok. i just made my Mind Control Cap, i have mind controlled a few people just playing around, but i dont fully know how to control the mind controled player. How do i make him attack something or control him fully? or can i even do that, i have seen a few vids where it looked like the guy pretty much told the guy who to attack so.
Anyways please post what ya know.

You can manually select the target.. When I MC, several little icons pop up showing different abilities as well as 3 buttons that say "Attack" "Stay" and "Something else".
I dont usually fool with controlling the other, they'll pretty much do what needs to be done. Priests will heal, hunters will shoot, etc..
But no, there is no way to directly control the target the way priests do. Also, you dont need to leave the hat equipped like the rocket boots.

the way to mind control a mob is similar to a hunter's or a warlock's pet. a small action bar appears above yours that gives you a list of actions you can perform. alternatively once you have MC a mob, hit Ctrl + 1 and that will automatically attack the target you select.
This sounds familiar....
But i'm noob concerning mind control which class and which specs gives you mind control? Maybe 1 of my alt....

We are talking about the Gnomish Mind Controle hat, no class, no spec.
