LW/skinning vs. herb/alchemyFollow

LW: You can make your own armor.
Pros: Your own armor.
Cons: Difficult to turn a profit on most recipes.
Skins sell for the least amount out of all gathering skills.
The best equipment is always world/instance drops. Not important until the end game.

Alchemy: You can make potions
Pros: You transmute Arcanite every 2 days for 100% profit (need to be level 275ish alchemy. Might be 250).
Potions provide good buffs, and healing.
Herbs sell for decent amounts, especially at high levels
Cons: Difficult to turn a profit on many potions (herbs sell for more).
Potions wear off when you die. If you're a sloppy player, you'll lose a lot of potions very quickly.
Herbs can be tough to get to make potions around your level

I'm talking about at higher levels. Every craft is relatively cheap and easy until at least level 35.
