Is there a better way to level my leatherworking efficently? I've been making Nightscape headbands and tunics but I'm finding them hard to sell, seeing as the market seems to be flooded with the stupid things...

hi !! i myself made tons of them and never sold any !! i don't know at which lv you are, or if you are A or H, but for the A, the next trainer is in aerie peaks... taught me a few good things. aftter that, you gonna have to choose which path you wanna go... elemantal, tribal, or dragonscale.
also, try to buy some pattern from AH

that's all !!

I've alredy decided that tribal is my chosen path, and I've started the wild Leather quests. Is the Wild leather Stuff worth making or are they hard to sell as well?

as i mentionned, i'm doing dragon scales... the green armor set is a nightmare to sell, unless you give it a silly price.
haven't sell any blue set, because the blue scales are a quite difficult to get... but looking at AH, they go between 40-60G

unfortunally, i do not know about the prices for tribal... best bet is to have a look at AH next time you're there

good luck

Leatherworking is on of the worst manufacturing skills to do some golddigging in... espacially if you are alliance... as horde you will have a bit larger market if you choose tribal...
if you are a leatherworker, do the sets you need then start over as a engineer to get their gadgets....

What I did was make an alt and learned enchanting, now I just send all my stuff to alt for disenchants as they sell well and don't cost you anything to auction.

Starting over is impossible as I'm in a Guild that's trying to be self-sufficent and we already have a few engineer's.I've been assigned Elemental Leathworking.

On the Question of how much stacks sell for...it verys from world to world and from AH to AH and from day to day.

As for making cash LW .....its a very hard road. Most of the time you have to catch the AH low on what you have to sell, them price wisely not greedy.

I was lvl 35 hunter and 300 LW with Sng at 250. How did I get that high so quick, (not that hard and others have done it ALOT quicker) Save about 10G up, go to AH and start buying thick at no more then 50S per 10stack, (at 50S you lose out so try for lower) Thread sells for 5S so I could make a Nightscape headband for 70S while I sell to the Vendor for 87S, so I made 17S for making it and got 1 LW point (if I got the 14Thick for under 50S). Do this with everything you can make....Check what the SALE to the vendor is first. Caclulate the cost of making it and buy lower then what you get for the sale.

If you want to make cash selling LW items then you have to do what alot of ppl hate...under cut the AH for 2 days forcing everyone else to lower their price to match yours....Then swoop in and buy all the LW items and put it right back in for higher forcing lower lvl ppl to pay YOUR price. Case in point on mats...I made over 30G selling Long Tail Feathers doing this. I bought out the whole inventory of both AHs on my server for 8G buying them in stacks of 10. I turned around and sold them in 4stacks (required amount of mats for gloves) for 25S per feather or 1G each stack!!!! I had to toss about 100 or more feathers when some1 else flooded the market with stacks of 10 for 50S.

The price for Scorpid scales is a reflection of what happens when this is used as a nornal price...they are nearly 1G for 1 on my server now.

Maybe it's server dynamics or varying standards, but I've found making money with leatherworking to be quite easy. Having taken skinning as my 2nd trade, I do little in the way of purchasing mats, and by lvl 30 my hunter had made well over 100g in profits.
My lw lvl must have been right around 200 @ lvl 30, certainly not any higher. You should be able to keep your toon very well equipped as well, with all superior weapons from lvl 15 up with these 2 trades. By the time i reach lvl 40(34 now), my mount will have been paid for well in advance, and I will have superior weapons in all available abilities. Being that I'm a hunter, that pretty much means everything but maces and wands.
If you think you have to be at the highest levels in lw skill to make money, you're going about it the wrong way. I suggest you look closer at the AH regarding what actually sells in relation to what you can produce.
