Westfall will have some, so will Redridge or Darkshore. Tin starts in the 10-20 areas, so go level.

Not to be insensitive about this, but, you're level 9. You've been playing for probly 2 hours, and you were impatient enough to come ask here about something you would have found out in another hour or so. You'll find iron when you're the right level to venture into areas that have it. I hope you haven't picked your other profesion yet, cause I'm gonna give you the answer to your next question. 2 gathering profesions is the most profitable way to go, one of them should be skinning. The crafting profesions will never make enough money to make it worthwhile. Sorry if this seems harsh, but there are a lot of questions that get asked here that would have been answered if the asker had simply played the game on their own and not tried to find an easier way. You're not the worst, by far, and it's because of that I want to thank you for not asking what kind of character you should be.

Bit harsh, no? :-) It took me quite a while to get my first toon up to level 10, and I didn't have much of a clue about anything in the game! And this is his first post in the forum, so maybe he hasn't found quite as much of it as you have.

In other respects, his answer is right - as you get into higher level zones, you'll find higher level minerals to mine. Loch Modan is one of my favorites for tin. You can also make use of the search bar on the left here - if you type in "tin vein", you can find maps of every zone where tin has been discovered and where the veins are. Works for almost everything else as well. And check out the guilde lists, and the "trade skills - by trade" and - well everything in the search bar. There is an enormous amount of information collected here. Enjoy the game, and enjoy the forums - I do!

It was harsh, I apologize. I meant to be a little harsh, but that was too much. Nearly everything you need in game will be revealed as you progress. Like you learned with the tin, you will find it when you're the right level to go into the areas that have it. Skills are meant to move ahead at a specific pace with your character level. For example, you are expected to be around level 40 when your blacksmithing gets to level 200. (if you have blacksmithing). You can certainly get to 200 BS before your char dings 40, but to choose between armor or weaponsmith, you have to be at level 40 and 200 blacksmithing.
