Any Links to Alchemy Price Charts?Follow

#1 Feb 21 2006 at 11:42 AM Rating: Default
Looking for a responsibly updated price chart on ALL alchemist pots that I can compare to my servers going rates. It'd also help all of us focus in on farming what'd get us alchemist's the most gold with minimal effort.

Does anyone have a link to such a place?

Well, allakhazam does have the average (median-based) prices of items sold by people using WoWreader. But as for someone putting it into a constantly updated chart? Not likely... unless you want to step up to the plate and do it. Also, it doesn't seem worthwhile to me; what sells on one server may not sell on a different one.

You best bet is just to watch prices and do your own research on your server.

Well I managed to find one pretty quick after doing some web-browsing but like I figured it all depends on the server. Some of the prices below don't reflect what I could manage in my realm but at least it's a thorough list on cost and everything that's out there.

I like that the chart you found has reletivly detailed informaion about the potions, but as for your question that was aready awnserd. Not one of those prices is even close to what I pay/charge, the transmutes are close, but even that verries by server, day of the week, time of the day,Phaze of the moon. Personlay it is foolish to even try and make a price list. As soon as you work to set a standard, somebody will undercut you(Thats usualy me), to make sure that they sell their stuff befoer you sell yours, if the undercutter has a lot of said item, they will be undercut by somebody else, now the default cost is half of what you list said.

I see it is a pointless endevor, with instability, pricewars, and a non constat soruce for either selling, or mats, you are just running yourself silly to make a list that cannot and willnot last.

Just as a example, one potion on diffrent servers.

Free Action Potion: I picked this one for obvious reasons.

Old and Full, Just moved off of one of theese guys, and this is where mone in Free Action Potion is located, old and full. That means lots of twinks and economys that are full of money, When WSG is doubble honor, i can pull about 75 silver each on a PvE or 1 gold each for PvP.

New and sparce, new servers or ones that never got overcrowded. they have less money in the economy, and folks "Do for themselves" more than on the old servers, usualy that same potion(far more rare on the low pop server)sells for way less 7-25 silver depending on day of the week and what BG is doubble honor.

WoW is not a fixed market economy, heck even on the same server prices float dependent on supply and demand, so even if you did have some magic self updating list, you would see that after famring mats to "maxamize" your gold, that by farming with the intent of making potions increases the supply, and demand will not go up simply because you have more stuff, and theirfore by farming, you affect(reduce in this case) the value of the potions.

The trick is to make potins and sell them, Their is a small amount of the game that is about annayliss and hard numbers. Thats for cirts and dammage bonuses, economics will always be fuzzy espeiclay whith no vendor starndard for us to base prices off of.

After playing with this chart I found a couple cool tools that might make (at least ) the math easier to deal with.

There's a calculator at the top that's set at 25% mark-up but you can change it to whatever. So if the competition is heavy on your server you can set it at 5% or 10%, etc. You can see if the pots you can make are even worth the effort.

You can click on each potion that has a "drop" "vendor" and so on and it will send you to Thottbot with info on that detail.

On my server(Spinebreaker) we have quite a few comedians who mess up WoWreader/auctioneer. They purposely just put some random item up for 9999g. So the best way would be to make alts on a few servers and run to IF/org and look it up.
