There is always a bit of copper to be found in the two mines - Fargodeep and Jasperlode.

When I go to Fargodeep, ther is usually one outside (on top of the rocks), and about 5 nodes inside the mine itself. Jasperlode has a lot of mines in the surrounding territory (watch out for the wolves), and about 6 inside (watch out for the spiders).

And for the horde? I know there's a chasm in durotar with the big thunder lizards and the burning blade goblin where there are a few nodes, but if I want to up my mining asap where should I turn to?

Just run around Durotar or the Barrens. you can get to 100 mining with copper, and then 125 with tin. Also, smeltiing earlier on with copper will raise skill.

Also, it's only 1 skill point per node, so you need to fin lots of nodes anyways.

I'm up to 72 or so through copper only, then went to the barrens to hunt for tin nodes. Seems a bit short on tin though, where can I look best? I'm lvl 33 so you can kind of guess my areas.
Anything up to desolace is greenlit and farmable.
Thanks.

The Dry Hills of the Barrens have some tin, also at level 33, you can hit up 1K needles easily enough.

1KN is now farmed ;)
Up to almost 100 skill, need some Silver nodes now to get my skill up quickly. I know of one in 1KN on the salt flats, but it's too much of a hassle to get there.
Any other places?

When you get to Stonetalon, there's a mine in southeast Windshear that always has a minimum of 4-5 tin nodes, which is nice.

wherever you go, you should be using the gatherer addon. It will keep track of every node you ever find and show them on the minimap and the full size map. Then you can return to an area, look at the map, and see where you've found the most nodes. Saves a lot of time searching. It also keeps track of chests and food crates.

(works for herbalism, too)
