i currently have skinning and mining. i thought it would be a good idea to sell skins and bars for gold, but im not making as much money as i thought i would be, is there anything better i could be doing that could get me some quik cash?

anything but enchanting i dont have the time to get that up and i hate it.
Fishing. You have to feed your pet anyway, so you might as well up the skill. The money fish aren't edible, so they are extras that will make you lots of gold.

My hunter knows Mining and Engineering. I have made 1 gold 35 Silver and some copper and my toon is level 9..

That might be your problem. If you want to make money, you can't allow yourself to be bored with any of your gathering skills, or allow yourself to fail to up those skills in favor of levelling your character. Mining and skinning should make you a good bit of cash by themselves. Fishing can make you wealthy. But you can't fail to apply yourself in the process, no matter what gathering profession you choose. Sometimes you even need to farm lower-level areas where you don't get experience but you do get the goods.

im herbalis/alchemist its very nice skill i can earn in one day 150 g if i have time but its no problem to make 50g per day.
For example:
20 dreamfoil cost 13-17g
20 gromesblood cost 14-17g
20 mountainsilv... cost 14-17g
20 gravemoss cost 16-22g
20 blind... cost 5-9g its easy to find in swamp of sorow
and others its very nice
you can also sell potion
5 greater fire resistance potion cost 10-15 g if you have recept frome BRD you can make this cheap and earn nice money.
My record in one day is 350g and i spend 5h to find this herbs :D GL

Hmm, I have enchanting on one of my toons, but I don't do enchants unless a friend or guildie specifically requests it. Now enchanting regeants, thats where I make a good portion of my money. I just DE, and sell the reagents on the AH. Its a good way to get rid of crappy items my toon can't use and makes a nice profit.
Of course, my enchanting level hasn't gotten very high because of this. But then again, my toon isnt broke either.
