Fishing? And other newb Questions :: Free Realms

Hey, I read the tradeskill sticky and I don't see Fishing in there. Does that mean this works like FFXI where Fishing is kind of an alternate skill that you can level up along side the two primaries?

Also... when you say... want to skin something... do I have to have the skinning knife equipped as my weapon?

What are the common reasons that different classes would want to pick different trades? I have been lurking the board for about a week and have only played for a few days, and I did read the sticky, so forgive me if this is redundant, but the help is appreciated.

To answer your questions,

1.) Yes, it's a secondary profession.

2.) Skinning doesn't require you to equip your skinning knife, though fishing does require the fishing pole.

3.) The different professions aid different classes differently. A blacksmith is a good choice for a warrior or a paladin so that you can create your own arms and armour. Alchemy, enchanting and tailoring are all good for the mage-esque types. Leatherworking is best for druids/rogues. The gathering professions are to suppliment the crafting professions.

you must have missed it. It's after First Aid, and before Leatherworking.
