Do not overwork your trade skills.
Unless you have money from an alt, purchasing new recipes, shcematics, or patterns will drain your money fast.

I think that is pretty much common sense don't you think? I mean, if you don't have money to blow, then you aren't going to be spending money crafting anyway. But you really don't need all that much if you think about it.

I would say that even if you have the cash, try not to waste it getting to higher lvs if possible. One thing the game provides is a means to gather materials on a consistant basis so that you can support yourself without breaking the bank.

Of course it may take awhile to get that Uber Recipe to drop or gather enough mats to hit lv300, but the means to do it is there without spending money(not including vendor recipes and training)on mats and recipes on the AH.

You would think it is common sence, but it realy only comes to light after you have made piles of money on an other toon.
When I played my first hunter, and was a leatherworker, like a idoit I took every pattern I could, Not knowing that their was little to no market for most of them, or that I could skill up on the low mat stuff. Remember Hindsight is 20/20.

to this day i still dont have the recipe for making heavy leather or thick leather. i knew that if i was a skinner, id have my own reasons for using medium, or heavy leather, instead of combining it to the next level.

it's nice to see 300/300 but it's true, you can spend several hundred gold buying recipes and mats off the AH for that extra 10 points.

on the other hand, since i have a LW and tailor, almost everything is used for tradeskill instead of selling as a raw resources.

so i have to say, while there are some nice upper level recipes which may be profitable, the best way to have a trickle of gold coming in all the time is to *not* have tradeskills and instead just sell cloth, leather, etc.

small gains of gold are good, at least you wont be without money for repairs..ive heard *that* story too many times.
