Mining questionFollow

As a Lvl. 8 NightElf Hunter, I have decided to take up two Gathering Trades. Skinning and Mining. In other words, I'm going to supply all those who take the usual path of one Gathering Trade and one Production Trade.
Since I'm on Teldrasil, mining is not an option here, you can't find the trainer.

Question: I think about the best place to start a mining career is in IronForge. I think level-wise, it's a good match for me right now. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance!

You can aquire mining as a Night Elf once you reach Auberdine in Darkshore. To reach Darkshore from Teldrassil simply take the portal beneath the tree in the center of Darnassus (Has a purple glow to it). From there take the hippogryph from the flightmaster in the village of Rut'Theran. The mining trainer in Auberdine is located next to a large building on the western side of town.

As for the best place to start out aquiring materials, I'd say go to Elewynn Forest or the surrounding area's of Dun Morogh. The Fargodeep mine just south of Goldshire in Elewynn has numerous copper deposits in and around the mine. As for Dun Morogh I suggest the Gol'Balar quarry just east of Ironforge. several deposits in and around that location.

Just my opinion of course...

I've found that the greater IF area is a great place to start the mining skill. Copper (Cu) is abbundant. Also, Elwynn Forest is a great place, probably equal, and both are low level areas. You start to gather a lot of tin in the following areas too. One suggestion: Don't smelt much bronze if you are going to sell the bars, unless someone asks for it. You will usually get more out of selling 20 Cu bars and 20 Sn (tin) bars separately than smelting the two together and selling 20 Bronze. (I learned that the hard way) Good luck.
