i just picked up enchanting at lvl 41 so its not hard for me to come by greens and sometimes blues especially now that i have plate and can DE my mail instead of vendoring it. even so, i feel that i get more skill points out of DE than enchanting. so, i thought if this was howd it be i could just keep on that DE. but my friend said it only brings up ur skill to a certain point. is that true? and if so, when???
It’s true. You only get points for disenchanting for a very short time. After that the only way to gain points is to enchant things. You can, by the way, enchant the same item over and over just for the skill points if you like.

Unless it has changed recently, disenchanting stops giving points at 60 skill.
