Where are the best places to mine for:

Iron
Gold
Mithril
Dark Iron
Truesilver
Small Thorium
Rich Thorium

(the most abundance that people have found/lowest lvl areas for easy access)

I would say STV for iron and Alterac Mtns for the mithril. But it has been a loooooong while since I have been mining.

i agree, dont share your secret mining place, because its obviously no longer a secret if u do. i dont mind telling people where to mine copper and tin but once u get the higher lvl stuff just dont because it screws up the game 4 u and 4 everyone else that has a secret spot

There will be copper and tin in any of the low level places, I haven't really found any to be better than any others. Places up to the level of say ashenvale (sp?) are littered with it (with the lower areas having a majority of copper and slightly higher with tin). For iron and mithril there's no better place than badlands (or um whatever zone uldaman is in hehe... yeah I've been out of the game for a while). If you're high enough not to have to deal with the mobs (mobs are high 30s up to low 40s) you can run around the outskirts and farm about 3 stacks of mithril and 2 stacks of iron with some truesilver in like an hour if you're fast and noone else is farming it right in front of you. Make sure to go back by the elite dragons if you won't agro them as there are quite a few mith spawns back there. For thorium... any high level zone... EP, Winterspring, Sith (not even going to try to spell it), etc...

If you don't have it already check out the gatherer mod... it tracks all spawn points that you've mined/herbed and also treasure spawns that you've found and marks them both on mini and world map with distance (and estimated time) to get to said node.
