Hunters: Engineered items & pets......Follow

#1 Dec 26 2005 at 11:32 PM Rating: Decent
As a hunter, I originally took engineering so I could make my own guns & ammo, and then make good pvp related items later on. Now that I'm at the point where I need to decide between Gnomish vs Goblin engineering, I'm curious how some of the items work while your hunter pet is active. Specifically, will battle chickens, mechanical dragonlings, and even the Gnomish Mind Control Cap all function while my pet is active?

If any hunters have some advice on this, I'd appreciate hearing it. I have a 60 end game shaman that is Dragonscale LW and Skinning, so I've never had any personal experience with pets or engineering devices that control folks or create npc pets that fight for you.

Thanks!

I find that they work ok but no not at the same time but nice back up if your pet dies and you need a little help finishing them off the dragon ( arcanit dragonling) dose some wiched dmg and has an aoe breath atk so it's kinda sweet to see =)

Battle Chickens and Dragons work like target dummies/compact harvesters. They are "Guardians" so they work while the pet is out.

However, the gnomish universal remote and gnomish mind control cap will not work with a pet. I have tested the remote but not the cap.

PvP wise the battle chicken and the death ray are the only gnomish device that bind on creation so only a true gnomish engr can use them.

The Net-o-matic, shrink ray, etc. can be made by a gnomish and given to a gobbo. Likewise, Goblin XL cables can be made by a gobbo given to a gnome engr (this is what I did), but I digress.

Hope this helps.
