#1 Dec 23 2005 at 8:10 PM Rating: Decent
ok im a tailor and im 225 right now just waiting to hit lvl 35 so i can beomce the artisan tailor casue i want to be 300 tailor for my guild :). So anyway i was checking stuff out on wut ill need for items when im 300 tailoring and i read the bottem less bag i thought that was so sweet i was gonna make like everyone in my guild some. then i looked at the regeants and almost fell off my chair. mooncloth which has a 4 DAY!!!!! cool down. Is it just me or does this sound a little high just for one F***ing thing. I was outraged so i think if we complain enough that blizzard will change. i mean it worked for pallys. so all you tailors who are outraged let me get a reply and anyone else who wants to reply go for it.

PS for u who dont know wut a bottem less bag is its a 18 slot bag that requires 12 pieces of mooncloth and mooncloth has 4 day cool down so 4x12 is 48 days a month and a half to make 1 item!!

It's an 18 slot bag though, and on most servers, worth alot of cash. If you could make these one after the other, the market would be flooded with them, and the prices would drop considerably.

Also, the only other 18 slot bag that comes to mind is the Onyxia one.

Bingo. Many months ago (I want to say around 9 months ago or so) the pattern for this changed from around 4 Mooncloth to 12 Mooncloth. At 4 Mooncloth, people were easily crafting themselves and their guilds these bags. Blizzard apparently wanted them to be a lot rarer.

Since Blizzard changed this recipe to make it need 8 more Mooncloth almost 10 months back, I think the current formula is right. Since this is one of only a couple of ways to get an 18 slot, I think it is fair. Think of it this way: Onyxia has a 7 day reset period. If you have 40 people fighting her, you have approximately a 7/40 chance to get an 18-slot within 48 (technically 49) days. Assuming a bag drops every time.

The recipe guarantees you an 18 slot every month and a half. No random drops involved. The only other way to make this even with the bags from Onyxia would be to make Monyxia drop like 5 bags each time, which is highly unrealistic.

As a person (300 Tailor) who has made his own Mooncloth for Mooncloth Boots, Mooncloth Robe, and Belt of the Archmage, Mooncloth adds up a lot faster than you'd think. Just start hoarding it away faaar in advance. It'll take forever to get the pattern anyway. And on the plus side, many of the blue Mooncloth items stink, even compared to the tier 0 cloth sets, so Mooncloth, despite an ungodly cooldown, is relatively cheap on the AH. Two Arcanite transmutes (4 days) would be around 10 gold (not including materials). Mooncloth (four days) is around 8-10 gold on my server, and that does include the materials (two felcloth, worth around 2-4 gold). Mooncloth is a lot cheaper, speaking in day/gold ratios, than arcanite.

The recipe is fine as it is. And hard as hell to get. All necessary changes have been made.

Meh, i wouldn't complain that much either.. i mean other professions have their cool downs too. felcloth sells decently and mooncloth goes at 8g a piece (on my server) on the AH. I'm a leatherworker and we have to wait 3 days to refine deeprock salt, same thing except i'm finding that the rugged hides aren't selling >_<.

You really need to stop complaining. First of all, will having/not having an 18 slot bag make or break you? No, of course not. Next, since having an 18 slot, as opposed to 16 slot bag is not going to make a huge difference in your play experience, getting one every month and a half is no big deal. Just think of it as a reward for all the hard work every month and a half. Finally, if you have that big of a problem with it, pick another profession. Honestly, compared to most other games, if you have a good amount of money and mats, it's not hard to go from 0-300 in a day. You only have to make 300 things that are orange. No more. So, if you're to the point where you are trying to set up a petition, you need to spend some time not playing WoW... it's really getting to you..

Happy Holidays

Something else I just thought of. Arcanite goes for 25 gold at the AH. It is veeeery unlikely that a Blacksmith who uses Arcanite is also an alchemist who makes it. The OP is thinking in uni-personal terms: it takes "ME" 48 days to make a Bottomless Bag. How many blacksmiths do you think make their own Arcanite for an Arcanite Reaper? That's 20 bars, which equals 40 days for a single person to make.

Do what blacksmiths do: find others who make Mooncloth and buy it off of them. Thinking that a single person should supply the materials for this is just silly. I can't believe I didn't see this very obvious point before, heh ^_^;

Wow, AH prices really vary it seems... arcanite is ~4g on my server, mooncloth is 12-16g+ ... I'm just racking up all the mooncloth I have for a few recipies and am then selling it all the leftovers and going on to herb/alc :P

But yea, even 16-slot bags take quite a bit to make... that extra few slot's won't make or break your game except by the rare chance your a gold farmer, in which case you probably have the money to get these bags anywho :P

Arcanite is really 4 gold for a bar? A transmutation alone goes for 5 gold on my server, and the crystal is around 15 gold. Mooncloth, on the other hand, has been steadily decreasing in price to around 8-10 gold. It is either a good day to be an epic tailor (with rare recipes!), or a very bad day to be a profit-tailor (in it for the Mooncloth), hehe :-P

What do Arcane Crystals go for if the bar is only 4 gold? And transmutations? I mean, Arcane Crystals aren't super rare, but they aren't very common either...

Slightly easier, Panther Hide Sack off the Panther boss (Arlokk) in ZG. Only have 20 people to fight for it instead of 40, if it drops.

you mentioned "guild"...

so if your guild is helping you the way you want to help them, imo it is perfectly fine to ask them to help provide some of the mats. that means, either another tailor helps you make mooncloth (voila, the time is reduced in half!) or the person who wants the 18-slot bag provides some of the mats.

eg, he buys you the mooncloth, or he asks some player outside the guild to convert the 2 felcloth for some tip. the tip still will be cheaper than the mooncloth itself.

having an 18-slot isn't meant for everyone. the cost of mats is high, or the time to make the mats is long. if someone wants one, they have to put up with the time needed or give the money towards it.
