Heya WoW players,

I just started playing after playing FFXI for a year and a half. I hated the crafting so much in that game I never level'd it one bit. But here... looking online at my options and seeing how easy it is to level it I'm very interested. Now One thing that confuses me slightly is that I can have 2 main proffesions like for intance, Leatherworking and Skinning. Since I'm a hunter this makes sense.

But one thing I'm confused on is I can have all 3 of the secondary proffesions? I'm doing first aid right now cause its easy and helpfull, but I'm considering taking up cooking for my pets... So am I reading this right that I can do both cooking and first aid? And if I can would it be wise? I like the look of the end game leather gear I can craft with the right level and such. I read the guide and it was most helpful, but any more tips for a level 10 night elf hunter would be appreciated. Thank you for you help. ^.^

Yes, you can take all the secondary professions.

As for a hunter profession, leatherworking is good until around 40ish, but for a hunter, engineering is probably more useful.

You can make guns and ammo, and some fancy toys to play with :)

I've gone down the hunter route multiple times. Leatherworking/Skinning is so so for hunters, as alot of the Leather Armor you can make is geared often towards Druids and Shamans. You'll find some of the higher end Leatherworking armors don't give Agility at all. Kind of a bummer.

Engineering is not to bad, though keep in mind you're not going to make much money with it. Engineering isn't known for it's income. My best advise would be to spend little until 40ish, buy your mount with your stored up gold, and make sure your bankroll is large when you start engineering. You're going to need it.

So what it looks like is Leather/Skinning for a while to make my own gear perhaps till I get mail and for some money? Then possibly switch to Engineering for the fun stuff that won't get me money? Sounds pretty good. But isn't some of the Endgame mail actually made from leather crafting? Whats the best gear for a hunter endgame? Is it even craftable? Whats with that dragonscale gear I've been reading about? I didn't really see much agi there. What are your thoughts on that?

Dragonscale is for shamans mainly. Only the black set is really used by hunters endgame, until they get their tier one set. Some actually favour the black dragonscale stuff over the beaststalker items for MC because of the +fire resist

The tough scoorpid armour you can make is very nice for a 45ish hunter. Lots of agility.

Honestly, pick whatever professions you think are cool. If you pick professions that are "suited to your class" but dont really interest you, your play experience isn't gonna be half of what it could be. Yes, there are ideal professions for all types of players, but just choose what appeals to you. If it really doesnt work out, you can always change them.

Happy Holidays
