If I got a blacksmith to put a Thorium Shield Spike on my shield, would I have to have 250 blacksmithing to use the shield, after the Thorium Shield Spike was installed?

LOL NO!!!
You buy a spike but nead a lvl 250 black to put it on the shield...
(they just right click it and click on the shield )
after that any one that can use a shield can use it!
same goes for the mithril spurs ect ..
