Hey, I just started a character (Gnome) and want Enchanting as one of my tradeskills. The only problem is that I don't know who trains apprentice enchanting. Can anyone help me with this?

Go to Ironforge and ask the guards where an enchanting trainer is.

The enchanter is in the room of the Great Forge, he will train you on apprentice stuff. Once you get to 150 you will have to go to the Tower of Azora to the east of Goldshire in Elwynn Forest. After that the final enchanter is within the instance Uldamann, so you are going to have to be 42 to get a group, or get some guildies to run you to her. Good luck, lots of money in enchanting!

Please, please dont give them the wrong impression, LOL.
Enchanting is a money looser until you are pimped out with the really high level super chants which are a pain in the **** to get.
Until then you will be loosing gold like crazy leveling it.
Dont get me wrong you can make gold at it, but its not like your gonna get rich over night, and its a major headache sometimes.
I always thought the same thing when I got enchants and had to pay the really high prices for some of them, but after leveling to 300 myself i realized that, hey, these peeps arent really making much profit if any at all most of the time.
This is just how it is on my server, it might be different on others, but dont expect to become rich from it any time soon when you start out.
im not trying to discourage you, but just letting you know the reality of the profession as I have experienced it.

I completely agree with this. My dwarf priest has 285 enchanting and he’s yet to make a single copper from it. And you don’t want to know how much he’s spent on it. Lets just say that for my last bit of leveling it cost 5 gold per attempt at a skill point. Yes, I could be disenchanting items I make for components (300 tailoring and 300 leatherworking on two characters). But I found I could get more dream dust by selling my leather then by making items and disenchanting them. And leather is easier for me to farm than cloth.

Here’s the main thing to understand about enchanting; you can’t sell enchants in the auction house. You have to stand around in places like Ironforge and spam, politely, general chat for hours and hope that someone is willing to buy what you’re selling. And there may be one or ten other people doing the same thing at the same time. I happen to loath doing that. So I don’t make any money at it. But I can enchant items for characters on my second account and for friends.

So if you want to make money at enchanting make sure you have a salesman’s personality. If not, you may not enjoy the enchanting profession. And according to Blizzard its working as intended, so its not going to change in the foreseeable future.
