Mining gap: Tin <--Silver?--> IronFollow

I've just recently started up mining on my lvl 40 Paladin. The first 80 levels were easy as copper veins are spread throughout the lowbie areas. Tin is a bit harder because there isn't much of it, but when smelting bronze turned gray at level 100 and mining tin/silver is my only option (as iron mining won't be an option until level 125) I'm stuck!

I've seen a silver vein two times today, one time where it was hidden inside a rock (!). I can only gain levels from smelting silver or mining tin/silver, though I don't know for how long tin will give me levels.

Any advice on how to break 125 so I can start mining all the delicious iron in Arathi?

I've been grinding a bit on incendicite and bloodstone in Wetlands and Arathi Highlands, but I'm not sure for how long they'll stay yellow/green.

Thought so. Guess I'm going back for another session of mindnumbing mining.

I don't remember it being that much of a problem - mining tin seemed to level me up just fine until I could mine iron. The smelting part seems to turn grey long before the mining. I'm not sure, but I also seem to remember being able to mine the iron before I was able to train to smelt it - did it actually tell you that you needed mining 125 to mine the deposit?

Silver is a rare spawn of tin - if you keep mining tin deposits, you will occasionally find silver where you expected tin. Likewise, gold is a rare spawn of iron.

Good places I found to level up were Loch Modan - the eastern mountain ranges down to the south afforded lots of tin and copper, and the bronze sells pretty well at the auction house - and the Wetlands - a cave behind Raptor Ridge has lots of iron and tin. At your level, nothing in either place will bother you.

Hope any of this helps...
