Tailoring/?Follow

#1 Oct 18 2005 at 9:49 AM Rating: Decent
I am a Human Warlock, and I know I want Tailoring as one of my Trade Skills.
But, I do not know what to choose for my other Trade Skill. Nothing really goes with Tailoring. I was wondering if I could have some suggestions on what to have for a seccond Trade Skill.
Thanks in advance.

This is always a tough decision, as you stated correctly, nothing reallygoes with Tailoring. Personally, I think that Enchanting goes well, as I know from experience that you make several things repeatedly, to skill up Tailoring. Green items can be disenchanted. :) Otherwise, I'd go with a gathering profession, such as Herbalism or Mining. Hope that helps. :D

Thanks.
Those three would be the only ones that i can do, because everything else either works with another Trade Skill (Blacksmithing works with mining) or they just contradict Tailoring (Skinning only works on beast-type creeps, but I usually kill humanoid creeps because they drop cloth)
I never got the colored items. So, do I disenchant items like the Red Linnen Bag right after I make them? Or do I have to do somthing to them? Or can I only disinchant enchanted creep drops?

Ok, I think I want to go with either Herbalism or Mining, because they are the money making ones, and I like money :P
I think I am going to go with Herbalism, just because it does not take away from my time. When I see an herb, I just go get it, forget about it, then sell it in my spare time. Mining I have to mine the ores (which takes up more time since I mine multiple ores), then smelt them, then sell them.
Thanks for the help.

Ack! I still can't decide! And not only because of Breslin. All of a sudden enchanting is sounding really good......
On this page, are the green items under Result all available for disenchanting?

As far as I can tell, yes - and if you click on the item, Allakhazam will actually tell you what it disenchants into.

Just do enchanting, it's really the only non-gathering prof that makes a ******** of money anyways, once you get high end enchants anyways

I gotta agree, enchantinng is the way to go. You'll never be able to get rid of all the items you tailor otherwise. (not for any kind of profit at least)

Ok, I decided to go with enchanting.
A few more questions: Does Lesser Magic Essence really sell for 20 Silver? I got 2 on the third disenchant I did, was that really lucky? And would it be a bad idea to sell the Essences I get instead of using them to enchant itmes?
Also, I saw that the Lesser Magic Essence was a green item. Can I disenchant it too?

You cannot disenchant ALL green items, just most of them. Any green, or blue or (god forbid) purple gear can be disenchanted, as far as I know, but gems, bags and potions cannot.

No, you cannot disenchant essences or dusts or shards of any kind.

I have tailoring and enchanting at 300 each. Please take my advice and forget that you have enchanting at all until:

a) you reach a skill of 80 from just disenchanting things (easiest way to do it)

b) You've got cash to burn (preferably post mount, but not necessarily)

c) You've got cash to burn.

Getting from 80 + is really hard, because no one wants +5 health on a chest piece, or +1 stamina on a bracer. They jsut won't pay for it. So disenchant for monies, then later on enchant your own stuf over and over and get some higher (like 225+) skill. That is the fun part.

Enjoy!

Would it be smart to enchant items, then disenchant them just for experience? Can I even do that? I get alot of Mail and Leather armor that I can\'t use......
If not, should I just sell my Essences and Dusts? Or would it be smarter to have them for later than to have money?
Sooo many questions.....I feel like such a n00b......
