Grinding EnchantingFollow

#1 Oct 14 2005 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
Just curious if anyone has any suggestions on how best to go about grinding up Enchanting. I've found Tailor relatively easy to grind and actually make a bit of money doing it, but what are the good recipes for grinding for Enchanting?

Thanks!

find the enchants that just use dust (strange, vision, etc.) these are cheaper to burn through than anything with an essence or a shard. at low lvls don't even buy the other enchants, unless you personally want to use it. try and give them away, for a tip or two. but you won't have much luck with that until 200 or so, your enchants just aren't all that great. good luck, and stick with it. it'll pay off

I’m currently stuck at 261 enchanting. I just ran out of dust only enchants. Time to do some research and see if I can find some enchants to buy for cheaper leveling.

For the beginning enchanter I strongly recommend taking a look at this guild:

Agreed on the Guide. It is Very very helpful to utilize tailoring as an easy source of leveling enchanting. You probably won;t make any money on enchanting until at least after 225, and end up sink more money into it. Try to give away enchants for mats, but if your a tailor, farming cloths and making your items to DE it the most cost effective. I also found that it is a lot easy at a higher level, due to the ability to fun instances. You get mega cloth from mobs in instance and you can DE blues for shards. I would recommend not using the shard to level, but either saving them until you actually need them, or selling them. Shards make decent money, especially when u can level off dust enchants.

this guide is great for a tailor/enchanter. I would also recommend if you don't tailor to hook up with someone who is trying to level tailoring (i.e. guildie) and work out a deal, you farm cloth, he makes, you get to DE.

I've found that getting Enchant xxx - Boots or Enchant xxx - Bracers seems to be dust only enchants. I know Greater Stamina to Boots and Bracers are 11 Dream Dust per chant. I am currently 268 (Just got Fiery!!!!), and I believe that my Chant Bracers is still orange for 11 Dream Dust, my main problem now is that I'm starting to get illusion dust and eternal essence, and I don't have any chants that use them.

Guess I'm back to farming mageweave and disenchanting Black Mageweave Shoulders for all my Dream Dust (dang, I guess I have to stop mass producing Enchanted Thorium for a while).

Black Mageweave Shoulders! Thanks for the suggestion. With this addition I can farm mageweave, runecloth, thick leather and rugged leather for my dream dust. I wonder how far I get level on dream dust.

Black Mageweave Shoulders (item level 46): 12 mageweave cloth, 2 Heavy Silken Thread
Runecloth Belt (item level 51): 15 runecloth, 1 rune thread
Nightscape Pants (item level 46): 14 thick leather, 4 silken thread
Wicked Leather Gauntlets (item level 53): 8 rugged leather, 1 black dye, 1 rune thread
Wicked Leather Bracers (item level 53): 8 rugged leather, 1 black dye, 1 rune thread

hands + stamina and boots+stamina should still be using dusts and still good at lvl 261. bracers+stamina also, but you can check your recipes. if you dont have those yet, look them up on AH.

after that there are some easier enchants that you should have easy access to mats, like the Nether Essence + dust enchants.

At 277 enchanting Enchant Boots - Greater Stamina is still orange to me. It takes 10 dream dust per enchant. I expect it to turn yellow at 280; though I do hope I’m wrong. But even if it does, the first five points of an item turning yellow I usually get a skill point each time.

At 285 skill Enchant Cloak - Superior Defense takes 8 illusion dust. I’ve yet to see any illusion dust, I guess I’m just not disenchanting high enough level items, but it looks like that’s the best enchant to use for leveling to 300.

from 0-200 i basicly just used whatever mat was easiest or cheapest to get, when you get +7 attack to 2h (around 250 or so?) that is probobly the BEST to go with because the mats are cheap (2x large radiant shard, 2x dream dust) AND people will buy that....just spam it out on the AH bridge and someone is bound to say something ;)

I took up enchanting at 30 and at 41 i'm at level 225 (need to go to ulda)

granted, i did have 80 gold to spend on reagents at the AH but, I got must my reagents by running WC early levels and BFD SM and RFK later on.

I think it would be a great idea if someone could put the instances you should run to DE items that would drop a target -essence, dust, or shard.

In fact, I think I'll do that. RFC, and WC, here I come.

ANyway, besides that, what level items would drop vision dust? ones from SM and ulda? will a large stack of vision dust be able to get me enchants up to 285?

Bring a Tailor stacks of Mageweave and have him whip you out some Black Mageweave Leggings (don't forget to reimburse him for the 13s 50c for silk thread per pair). He can make four per stack and they DE to Vision Dust 90% of the time.
