What is the best route to feathermoon?Follow

#1 Sep 29 2005 at 3:07 PM Rating: Decent
I want to train past 225 alchemy and know I need to go to feathermoon. I see it on the map but have no clue which route would be best to get there. I'm currently logged in Ratcht and have the fp to dustwallow marsh if anyone could help me out and tell me which way to go from either place I would really appreciate it thank you.

Well, you'd probably want to come down from Desolace. Fly into Nijel's Point in northern Desolace and follow the road all the way south, then west into Feralas. Then head off in the direction of Feathermoon. You WILL need help getting there if you're below level 45 or so, because I believe you have to go off the road in Feralas to get to the docks and boat that take you to Feathermoon.

Either that, or be ridiculously careful.

The other option is to come in through 1000 Needles, and work your way west across Feralas. But, I think that's a longer walk in a dangerous zone. Make sure you get the flight path in Feathermoon for easy access back. ;)

Assuming you are Alliance, since the Horde artisan alchemist, Rogvar (sp?) is located in Stonard in Swamp of Sorrows.

Also assuming your level may be a little low for carefree running through Feralas, which is minimum 40-ish at the 1000 Needles end and almost 50-ish at the Desolace end.

Chadness hit it pretty well - the best way to go is through Desolace, although you can fly to Thalanaar in Feralas (right on the 1000 Needles border) if you have that flight point.

If you are in Ratchet, and do not have the flight paths to Nigel's Point in Desolace or Thalanaar in Feralas, it is safer to run from there than it is to go from Theramore in Dustwallow, which is a 35-plus zone. Go west from Ratchet, then south to 1000 Needles on the main road in Barrens, avoiding both Horde towns at Crossroads and Camp Taurajo. When you hit the Great Lift down into 1000 Needles at the very south end of Barrens, you will have to duck two Horde guards, levels 25 and 30. There are three ways to do this:
1. Run by them and they will ignore you if you are 40-plus,
2. Run to the elevator and let the guard beat on you til the elevator goes down. This works if you are a priest or a mage with a shield spell. This WILL set your PvP flag on though, and 1000 Needles is Horde-controlled.
3. Run to the cliff and jump off. If you die, the graveyard is right at the foot of the cliff, just to the right of the lift. Again, if you are a priest or a mage you can feather-fall or levitate down safely. There are no guards at the base of the lift.

Then work your way north and west through 1000 Needles - the main road going that way passes Whitereach Post with Horde NPC's but you can slip around them easily. Monsters are level 27-30. If you do not have the Thalanaar flight point, get it before you enter Feralas. It is on the left side of the 1000 Needles valley (as you face Feralas), right on the edge of the green grass that marks the start of Feralas - look for one of those moonwell-looking domes with the light beam on it.

Now we go through Feralas - follow the main road and be very careful, as Chadness mentioned above. Monsters in this end of Feralas are level 41-43. The best way around Horde Camp Mojache is going south becuase the north side of town there has ogres and other baddies that will munch you. Don't go too far south or the gnolls will get you.

Stay on the main path once past Mojache and you're OK til you get to the place where you have to head west downhill to go to Feathermoon Stronghold on the island. There is a road going down that way, and again there aren't too many mobs near the road (There's one of those level 46 flying snakes near there sometimes.).

There is a small dock on the beach where the boat that goes to Feathermoon stops. If you are low level for the zone, stop and wait for the boat. You can swim to Feathermoon if you are 40-plus, but there are a very few of those lobsterman mobs in the water that might be close enough to aggro if you are 35 or less. Don't go north or south on the beach - there are 48-50 elementals and 50-plus elite giants along it.

Once in Feathermoon, pick up flight point - alchemy guy (actually, gal) is in a tower there. Do not leave town toward the south if you are low-level for the zone - more 40-plus doggies and naga.

I didn't aim you through Desolace because it is futher from where you said you wanted to start in Ratchet, but it is safer to run to Feathermoon from the north end of Feralas than it is from the east (south) end, the way I took you. I ran my 31 character in there the south way beacuse he is a leatherworker and he will need the artisan LW quests in Feralas, but he is a druid and has the run-fast cheetah form.

Good luck with the trip.

And once again, do not forget to get the flite path. Running it a second time will not be any eaiser than the first.
