Just sell the leather.
Well if we're not going by server specific, I find some of the better items that sell are Toughend Leather Gloves, Nimble Leather Gloves, and the Armor kits in the AH.
The gloves because of the rogues that'll scoop them up as well, kits because of the obvious. Also if you see anything, give them a free armor kit upgrade on the item. Adds a bonus to the buyer instead of someone that's selling just the item.
The Toughend LG's can be a bother to make because of the Spider Silk, and the potion you need on them (same with the Nimble LG), but damn if they don't sell well.

Toughened Leather Gloves all the way. I have a guild alchemist who makes the Elixir of Defense for me and spider silk you can harvest your self. Also keep an eye out for Elixirs in AH, I bought 5 of them for 5s buyout last week. Gloves I put on AH for 1g50s start 4g buy out and I usually get the buy out price. I'm going to enhance them with HL-kits from this moment forward as suggested and do a 2g-5g. Mount, here I come. Just don't flood the AH, never put more than 1~2 gloves on at the same time.
barbaric bracers! those are 5-7g on my server..just takes heavy leather plus other mats that are fairly easy to get, not even hides or potions.
raptor hide belts also are good sellers.
the nightscape boots which give +1 stealth are desired by every rogue who gets to that level (lvl 41 as i recall)
however if you're saving for mount, i honestly agree with torux..sell all your leathers for the time being. get your mount then go back and farm those leathers again to make more items for money. the difference is you'll be doing it at 60% moving speed as you bear down on some animals!

I found on my server that i could sell green leather armor for a decent profit because it is a mat in a blacksmithing recipe that gives some blue chestpiece
