My advice to you, to kill a bunch of skinnables and... skin them.

There should be very few things you should ever have to -buy- that equate to any money at all spent. Most skillup recipes will actually make more money than you spend, and that's if selling to NPC. Don't buy your things from any places that is not your race's Capital. If you have, say, Honored Status in Stormwind, don't buy supplies from Ironforge becuase you are most likely only "Friendly" there.

I am not Lv30, but I do have LW up into the 100s, somewhere. I don't remember. I have a 19 Undead Rogue with Skinning and Leathercrafting. As far as what to do with an alliance, not sure. Your best bet is probably to kill loads upon loads of Worgen in Duskwood. If you are on PvE or RP server, you could do this as Horde too. I hear that Medium Leather isn't all that hard to come buy there, and you can make Heavy Leather from Medium Leather.

As far as what to do for money, as a Lv30? You could ***** instances. Go to some newbie instance, like Deadmines or something like that, or Shadowfang Keep (this is another awesome place for Skinning) and offer your help. I'm quite sure that lower level parties who are LFM wouldn't have anything at all against inviting someone who is normally "too high" to use the meeting stone. There are many things that could be done for money. You could also skin the hell out of Light Leather droppers and sell stacks upon stacks of Light Leather on the AH; Tailors and Blacksmiths will sometimes need this stuff too.

Or, if all else fails, just Farm. Farm. Farm. Farm. A lv30ish character should easily be able to farm humanoids that can drop Wool. Or, even, Silk. Go to Duskwood, and fight Undead in Raven Hill. Just be careful Mor'ladim. Or, if you are undead, try farming the Dalarans in Silverpine. They can drop Wool and a few Silk as well. If you have First Aid, you can make Heavy Bandages that will sell semi-well to NPCs. A stack of Silk Bandages sells for 80 silver to an Honored Status NPC. That's only 40 silk cloths to make nearly 1g. You could get even more if you go to your AH and put it up there, it commonly sells for nearly 60s per stack. Not to mention these Humanoids also drop money, a 25ish non-elite normally drops 50 or so copper per kill.

Hope this helps.
