Is there a listing or maps someplace showing the location of anvils and forges like there is for other items in the game? Forges especially seem hard to find - I only know of one each in Stormwind City, Ironforge, Thelsamar, Lakeshire, and Auberdine (although I haven't played much), and it seems I'm carrying my ore an awfully long ways before I can refine it.

Thanks,

Edited to add one in Goldshire in the blacksmith shop and one in Sentinel Hill next to the sawmill. So far, forges have been reported at:

Stormwind City - Dwarven District
Ironforge - the Great Forge, and one next to engineering gnomes
Thelsamar (Loch Modan) - next to metalsmith
Lakeshire (Redridge Mountains) - next to blacksmith
Auberdine (Darkshore) - Gnome encampment
Goldshire (Elwynn Forest) - in blacksmith shop
Sentinel Hill (Westfall) - next to sawmill
Darkshire (Duskwood)
Deadmines (Westfall)
Menethil Harbor (Wetlands)
Kharanos (Dun Morogh) - in shop full of weapon and armor crafters and anvils
Southshore (Hillsbarad Foothills) behind Inn, next to stables, and another in Hillsbarad Fields in the blacksmith shop
Dun Modr (Wetlands) - inside a building in the Dark Iron Dwarf fort
Nijel's Point (Desolace), lower level
Darnassus (forge, no anvil?) by Warrior's Terrace
Badlands (right in the middle of the map!) at Rigglefuzz's camp
Stranglethorn Vale - one at Booty Bay, upper level, with armorers, another with Galvan the Ancient near the Mosh-Ogg Ogre mound
Gadgetzan (Tanaris)

Maybe I wasn't clear enough on my original post. So far I have only found five forges total, and you seem to be saying that they are much more common than that. I wouldn't necessarily expect more than one in each city, but I would expect more cities to have them. For example, is there one in Goldshire someplace? Northshire? Anywhere in Westfall? In the Wetlands? Anyplace in Dun Murogh outside Ironforge? Duskwood?

For me at least, a listing of forge locations would be much more helpful than the comment that I'm not looking hard enough to find them.

There is a forge in Goldshire, the building across from the inn. The glowing wall is a forge.

Thanks! I scanned all over the walls and never found a "Forge" icon, but sure enough, I can smelt metals next to the correct corner!

I've also found one in Westfall now, next to the sawmill.

Any more?

If you mean just around the general area in which you are speaking, there's another forge in Lakeshire in the redridge mountains... on the other side of Elwynn forest.
And in westfall I believe there's a forge in Moonbrook as well, but not an anvil.
I'm not 100% sure about that though.

Southshore, behind one of the houses... across from stable I think.

Ironforge has a forge next to the engineering gnomes, right outside the door. It is one of the little forges like in the dwarven district of SW. There is a house in Moonbrook with a forge, dunno about an anvil. Most cities will have a forge and an anvil. Some places such as Duskwood have random anvils sitting outside of buildings (of course there are monsters around them). The Deadmines have a forge and anvils in the room with all the goblins. Just do not forget that forges can be either the little round ones on the ground that look like a small volcano, the stove looking ones, ones in the wall like in Goldshire, or the big one like in Ironforge.

Found another forge in Menethil Harbor, a wall like the one in Goldshire that doesn't show up as a forge when you scroll over it.

Found another one last night in Dun Modr in the Wetlands. There is a forge and anvil down a level in a round building. Of course, you do have to kill a few Dark Iron Dwarves to get there, and possibly while you're trying to work...

Another in the blacksmith shop on Theramore Island.

Found two more forges yesterday - one is in the city of Darnassus, right off the stairway to the Warrior's Terrace. There doesn't seem to be an anvil in the entire city though! The other is in Desolace, on the lower level of Nigel's Point - both forge and anvil.

Heck, If you can't find a forge in Ironforge you have a problem.....:)
