Tailoring/skinningFollow

I have a lvl 47 priest with tailoring/skinning.

The last days i noticed that the amount of money i get from my prof . isnt very good.I cant sell anything i made with tailoring in AH and the mobs i kill at this lvl 90% gives me thick leather which i also cant sell in AH for a decent price.

A friend of mine has a rogue (skinning / leatherworking).Whenh i was lvl 42 and he was lvl 40 i had 15g and he had 0.Now i have 75g and he has 200g (at lvl 45).

How? he changed leatherworking with enchanting and he starts farming instances disenchat bop weapons and sell them to AH.

Do you suggest me do the same?Should i drop one of my prof?I have 235 tailoring and 300 skinning right now.If i drop one for enchanting which one should i drop?Or it will be better to keep them because they will give me money in the future (when i have 300 tailoring or when i kill higher level mobs which will give me better things from skinning)

300 Tailor right here. My secondary changes quite frequently :-P

I started off Tailoring/enchanting. Made no money for 30 levels, so I dropped it for Mining. Made a good amount of money, but had to go out of my way to level it up. After I had my mount, I dropped mining for enchanting again. Made decent money by playing the AH, but prices varied wildly. I just dropped enchanting for herbalism for two reasons: I have a level 60 Alchemist/Herbalist, so I know where all the good herb spawns are :-P, and I need Kingsblood en masse for Thorium reputation :-D

In my experience, Tailoring does not make you very much money. However, it is darn useful for my guild, where I make cheap bags for everyone. Actually, I'm pretty sure I could make a profit selling Runecloth Bags (14-slots) at the AH; but it is always flooded, so maybe not.

But, yeah, Tailoring does lack money-making abilities, besides Mooncloth. Mooncloth has a 4-day cooldown, but sells for 15-20 gold per piece. Not too bad. But almost every level 300 recipe needs Mooncloth, so it's hard to sell it.

I like Tailoring. I'm going to be getting good recipes near the end-game (Flarecore, here I come!), and I like to see my name on items. I also like to be useful to my guild. As a secondary, anything will work, but you DO need to work for it. Even enchanting takes a long time; you need to gather the materials, etc etc. Disenchanting is good, but the prices can vary wildly. Mining/herbalism are good, especially when you get rare items (gems or end-game herbs), but you must take the time to level it up and farm for the herbs. Skinning is good for constant money, and wonderful for end-game reagent (Core Leather and Pristine Hide of the Beast come to mind).

Choose what you like, and realize that everything will take time and effort to get you money :)

Well, something you should think of is that if you have many crafters, they will need supplies. I think Skinning is pretty covered, as is everything you can do in instances, but gathering outside of instances can be useful. You might want to take up alchemy to transmute, or stay with Tailoring to make Mooncloth. Both of these will be useful to your guild.

Plus, if your guild doesn't need these services, they are free money for you with next to no effort! ;-)

So, Tailoring is worth keeping, and perhaps Mining or Herbalism. Mining might be more useful, but most of the Dark Iron will be mined by your guild is my guess :-P. At least outside of instances you have a chance to get Arcane Crystals + gems ^_^
