Turtle Scale - LeatherwrkingFollow

Hi;

Wondering how i take the Turtle scale dropped when killing turtles in south shore to making it useful as one of the required ingredients "turtle scale" in leather working? Does a black smith or tailor need to work them? Any info would help.
Thanks

it is a leatherworking recipe. ask friends or guildmembers if they can make the item for you if you provide the scales.

sounds like you dont skin though. so killing those turtles and not skinning them just killed your % chance of getting more turtle scales.

the turtles N of theramore and E of gadgetzan have higher chance of dropping/skinning turtle scales. these are high 30s, low 40s turtles, right around the right level to wear turtle scale gear.

the best drop rate ive seen are the turtles in hinterlands, but assuming you're around lvl 30 for SS, it'll be a while before you can fight the ones in hinterlands. by then you wont need the turtle scale gear.

Thanks for your reply.

Actually i do skin as well. I guess the two are best together anyway. I am lvl 230 leatherworking and have not seen the turtlescale recipe. Perhaps I should go back to the old trainers and see if I missed one. Thanks

those recipes are dropped, you can pick them up from AH. but there are a lot of them on sale because they drop pretty frequently from some lvl 40-46 mobs in tanaris.

if you are around that level, you can pick them up from there too, while questing.
