Just wondering what some good spots for mining mithril and thorium are. My mining is like 266 atm so i dont know if that prevents me from mining anything. Also, I'm only lvl 42 (will be 43 fairly soon) so that might rule out some areas. Thanks!

mithril is at badland and thorium in burning steppe
there is upwards of 30 mithril veins in the burning steppes.. its one of the mithril heavy areas of the game
but it is too high an area for you at this time.
there are a few veins in the swamp of sorrows, that is a good area for you, but you would be better off to grind 10 levels and then skill up your mining..
all skills are the same, once you hit 40 and can get artisan, you kinda stagnate until you level up into areas with the high end veins/herbs/skinnables... even cloth for tailoring is the same

Actually i found i could get at least 15 mithril ores per run around tanaris...Just mount up and run around the edge. The bugs shouldnt bother you if you have a mount.
yeah tanaris and un'goro have a few just dont fall off the edge u normaly die to high up to res >.<
Tanaris along the Southern mountains and the eges to the east and west is good for Mithril and a couple True /thorium.

Badlands is the single best place for mithril (and iron) in the game. I can usually collect 3 stacks of each in about an hour to an hour and a half of farming (usually about 3 passes around). There's usually a stack of ore (10) to be had in the part w/ the dragons alone, though it would be to your benifit to to skip that area of the badlands as you're not high enough. You're not high enough to farm any thorium yet, so don't bother until you hit about 50.

Try the Charred Vale in the Stonetalon Mountains. There are very regular mithril nodes, occaisional Truesilver, Iron, Silver and Gold. I can get 15 to 25 bars by circling the rim of the vale three or four times. Lvl 26 to 30 mobs (harpies) there.

Hinterlands is AWSOME for mithril!!

this is by far the best place for iron/mithril with the occasional truesilver/gold/copper Its so common, some easy spawn points to remember, its a small area so its quick to circle and rather low lvl mobs so a 42 should be fine there.
For thorium, most places that have decent throium you are too low lvl to really survive well in them. Searing Gorge is decent, along with Dark Iron. the plaguelands have decent spawns of them, only problem is the are really big areas and high lvl.
One my favorite spots is the black whelp area in the Badlands. There are basically two spawn areas for the whelps with an area in-between with elite dragons. Mithril will spawn randomly between the three areas. I have no proof, but I believe the three areas are linked. You’re just about the right level to be able to kill the whelps for good xp and a possible whelp pet drop and also mine the nodes. The only problem I have with the area is that it’s not exactly a secret. And depending on the time of day there can be some heavy competition for the metal.
I did most of my mithril mining i the hinterlands, just riding around the hilly area at the edge of the map, theres also a few thorium, silver, gold and true silver there as well.
circle around the egde of hinterlands - this is good for about 35 mithril. The only problem is that its a very well known spot for grinding mithril, and as such you may well find yourself competing with other miners

Well... im lvl 42 now, and since i were a little cute tauren at a mere age of 38 ive been grinding up on the lesser rock elements and rock elemenents just outside Kargath @ Badlands, also now at 42 im doing the greater rock elements, south of kargath. at these two points i have also seen great amounts of mithril, had like 50 ores in 1 ½ hour... Thorium you should really wait to try and go after until you're atleast 50+, else you should be going searing gorge, which isn't really a good idea until 50+ hehe... GL & HF
