Finding WoolFollow

#1 Aug 18 2005 at 8:11 PM Rating: Decent
Is there any good place for a level 35 Mage to go and find good amounts of wool to tailor into bolts?

you could try the Deadmines, an instance in westfall, but I would recommend you take a healer with you, and that you have instant arcane explosion...

I dont know if you can get it by that level, I think its probably possible.

If you are looking for only wool, then farming the beginning of the DM instance will be easy at your level. Outside the instance will be fairly easy as well.

Any humanoids around level 15-25 or so should drop wool, but Moonbrook and Deadmines would probably be the best...

Personally, I farm Ravenhill cemetary in Duskwood for wool, both with my Alliance and Horde characters. (If you play on a PvP server I'd suggest staying away)

In 3 or 4 hours of farming I usually have anywhere from 60-80 wool. I have no idea if Deadmines has that kind of drop rate. But since both places are so close to each other it'll be a nice change of scenery every once in awhile to switch between the two.

as hord i killed things at the farm in hillsbrad foothills, as my alliance i just went to anyplace with the right lvl humanoids and killed them, didnt get good drop rates, but did well enough for me, nice exp, with a nice chance to get wool is just fine for me, thats why as my hord hunter i kill the lvl 24-26ish humanoids at the farm in hillsbrad, dont seem to have a good drop rate, but the exp is somewhat nice

4 hours for 80 wool? i'd just go buy it. that could be anywhere from 30s to 1g a stack. but spending 4g (for 80 wool) instead of 4 hours sounds good to me!

assuming you don't have that 4g though, i personally found the orcs in dun morogh/wetlands tunnel to drop wool more frequently than DM or westfall mobs. some of the lower level gnolls in wetlands do also.

Go to the wetlands. Find humanoid mobs.
Stay to the right side of the road when you leave town. Follow the road till it is right next to the mountain. Once it opens back up look to the right into the hills. Once you see one mob you have located the ones that seem to drop one or two wool every other mob.

Redridge Mountains. When you leave town, go up the hill and to the left. Lots of wool to be gotten here, but, take a friend.

Paragraph one is wrong. The drop is silk instead of wool.

I'd have to mainly agree wih the people above me BUT after wetlands theres a hill you can go up like after the raptors this place has dragon maw your lev 35 shudl be easy OR above redridge the orcs one other place is follow the road through redridge go up just follow it to the end there will be a camp of gnolls or another place is on the way to redridge from elwynn is another camp of gnolls I recommend the latter (last if you have a small vocabulry)
