So far, the only fish I have made some decent gold on is Stonescale Eel. Are there other fish that are in demand and can bring in a nice price? If that is the case, please tell me where to find them.

Oily Black mouth pulls in about 2g a stack. And firefin snapper pulls in about the same. Both depend on demand at the moment, I have made as high as 10g on both if there aren't any on the AH.

Happy Fishing!

Deviate Fish as well tends to command a high price.

You can try to market Nightfin, Salmon etc (all the fish that give +regen, +AGI etc) - those are poorly known but quite useful as they stack with other buffs.

Bleh, Morth beat me to it :D

I go to the barrens and in that little oasis swamp thing, fish for the deviate fish. If ya can cook em to make those Savory Deviate Delights that turn ya into stuff that'll multiply your profits greatly.

Ok i helped. Wheres my cookie?

Sorry, no cookie. I did however rate you up. Overall it seems that grinding is way more profitable than fishing (at least when you are lvl 60). If I'm not mistaken, fishing will get more interesting with the next patch (the contest), so hopefully there will be more money in this trade skill in the future.

I fish in Steamwheedle Port, and catch lots of Stonescale Eels, but my keepers there are the Pearls from the clams, which I get alot of . I average 2-3 gold pearls a week, and they sell for between 10-12g each in AH. Plus my main money maker is holding everything at my mule until late Thursday Night, or early Friday morning, when I put them in AH at a prime rate!! Using the addon AuctionIt makes it very easy to add items to the AH, since it remembers the prices, and all you have to do is drop and save. (Conferm prices once and a while, since prices are flexable in AH) I must be doing something right, because Im clearing between 200-250 gold per week.

forgot to add, most of my money on Stonescale Eels comes from my 300 on alchemy which allows me to make the Stonescale Oil, Superior Defence Potions, and Greater Stoneshield Potions. The bring in the most gold for me.

Deviate Fish, Oily Blackmouths and Firefin Snappers are the easiest profit making fish to get. Deviate are only fishable in the Barrens but the others can be found all around Azeroth. ^_^

I know that for alliance, the dock off Auberdine is a place for oily blackmouth. But I have not had alot of luck there lately, despite 100 fishing and 100 bauble. I catch all kinds of fish, but out of a 10 minute fishing session, only 1 perhaps 2 oily blackmouth. Since it takes 4 to make a Free Action potion, this time table is completely ridiculous.

Are there any places other than the dock that are good for oily blackmouth? Does anyone have any places or hints that will help to catch them at a higher rate? 5% or fewer casts tend to catch them as I have found. I have a 21 druid doing the fishing. I would take the time to level up his fishing if I thought it would increase his rate of oily blackmouth catching. Also, I would travel if that would help.

The bonus is that I can't stand to stand there for long, so I will jump in and go for Stranglekelp. I tend to get about 20 or so each time I swim. Takes about 30 minutes to do the entire coast. But I have a bank of Stranglekelp and no fish to work with...

The problem with making money from fishing, is that a lot of chars don't realise the value of the cooked fish, especially as they stack with other buffs...
Nightfins, great for mana users
Wintersquid, great agility buff etc etc...

And if they do want the cooked fish they want to pay you a few copper for it, that doesn't even cover the cost of the ingrediants you've used in cooking them.
