Mining GoldFollow

I was wondering, where can gold be mined? I have not really looked all that much, and my warrior is only about level 24 right now.

Also, where is a good place for iron, I have seen once place in Duskwood, but I was not yet skilled enough to mine it. Right now, my engineering is getting to the point that I need iron to get any skill ups, but so far, i have not yet found an abundance of Iron in an area that is near safe for me to travel.

Don't look for gold. As the above poster said it's a rare spawn. I see it a lot in the higher tier zones (where Thorium is) but it's kind of hit and miss at lower level. Which consists of the zones where you can first find it. Look around for a level 30ish zone which is what 1k needles is 25-32?? something like that. If your on a PvP server forget about it since it's horde territory and you're absolute meat at level 24. If you want to make something with it just buy it off the AH saves you a lot of headaches. As for leveling I don't think you ever need to mine the rare spawns to level. Iron -> mithril should be enough. Although you don't get any point for smelting iron after such a point.

TY ill go there real soon probly through barrens after i hit lev 35 cause then i can raise mining above 225 i have 224 right now so glad im almost lev 35 then engineering and mining spree sap then mine and hope not to die.... i hope.

Yes, Truesilver is the rare spawn of Mithril. You'll see a bit of this in 1k Needles as well. It'll be rather annoying when you can't mine it, since it would normally be Mithril ^_^

On a side note, alchemists can Transmute iron to gold and mithril to Truesilver. So they basically just make the "normal" materials into something rarer! That's how I rememeber what is rare for what :)

For Alliance on a PvP server, I'd probably recommend Arathi Highlands for iron and gold. Still a Horde presence there, but nothing like Thousand Needles. Also Alterac is great for iron and mithril up where the Crushridge Ogres are, but, since it's that close to Tarren Mill, that might be a bad idea on a PvP server.
